Just how loud are we? Whats it like on the pitch when its rocking?
Maybe lower loft folks get a good feel of the true sound?
Loved last night a true Rangers Night Game Atmosphere

First half, not so much, nervy or just quiet. Blackpool lot very strange, quite noisy until we scored and then nothing.

I can only comment on what it sounds like on the telly. I would never pass judgement because I am in awe of the turnout home or away,especially in mid-week in shite weather. But while we are talking about it, I thought last night was really loud and consistently loud right through and of course afterwards. Whereas, I thought Middlesboro was more muted, dunno why, except perhaps they dominated a lot of the game. The shout for both our goals v Boro sounded like an 'away fans' shout, if that makes sense. But last night, it came across very loud, right from the off.
Only thing I didn't understand last night was booing Bowler - like it was his fault we decided to cash in before he kicked a ball for us.? | | | |

I thought the crowd was fantastic last night but if it wasn't for the sending off I think it would have been a bit flat
We do sometimes need something to spark us but it does show how much the players respond when we do go for it.

I sit at the front of the Paddocks, and I always think we are quiet. I mean, there are extraordinary games — Chelsea, Liverpool, Wigan - where you must be able to hear the noise a good way away - but in general I think of Loftus Road as a quiet home ground.
But I go to lots and lots of live music, so I know where you are matters to how things sound. So I think where I am —Â West Paddock — means noise from SAR just goes over my head, and from the Ellerslie corners just dissipates across the pitch. And because we're out from under the roof, we're not trapped in the noise the way you are higher up. That might also be why the Paddocks are the last bits of the ground to start singing. R Block dweller here. I thought Wednesday was very loud, loudest apart from West Brom. First 15 when we were on top it was okay then a bit flat. Red card certainly got the crowd up to back the boys. Sense of togetherness. The crowd were kicking and heading everything away. When they scored most people (especially me) expected grim death. But when that winner went it. Limbs.
Almost feel bad for the people that left after they scored but if Rangers have taught you anything this season, DON'T LEAVE EARLY. | | | |

That Preston game was a fantastic atmosphere... I was actually in Block B of the South Africa road for that game and even there it was rocking... If only we could bottle up the great atmosphere's and bring them out on a more regular basis. |  | | |

Don't get the leaving early thing. I remember the famous Ollie rant after the Brentford 2.2. That was a memorable night but we were bloody awful.
We deserved our win last night.
I did leave at 4.0 the night Newcastle came to town .

I don't think crowd numbers always matter. 12000 people in Loftus Rd is plenty good enough to make a proper racket. I often prefer these games as it's the core of our support and more likely to get behind the team than boo and moan. |  |

we CAN be very good - some of the time. but equally we can be very quiet and nervous. reactive to whats on the pitch rather than pro-active. I never forget us going 1-0 up on Liverpool back when we were still good, and the first chant you hear after the celebrations finished is "Liverpool Liverpool". We rarely do that. we are too busy moaning or calling out the boo-boy.
obviously our small compact ground helps. IF (big if) we get a new stadium, I really hope they think of the acoustics and not go for a souless bowl. |  |

I thought we were very subdued in the first half, but we really got behind the guys in the second half and kept going even after they scored. They made a fair amount of noise for a small crowd until we scored and then they went a bit quiet. |  | | |

The answer surely lies in the Final Whistle reaction thread, SAR looked half empty from my view in R block , there was 11,289 Rs fans according to Clive's stats, some of them left when Blackpool scored and on the Final whistle, yet collectively the remaining fans made an amazing sound from pitch side , much louder than I was expecting...... | | | |

Only 3 games I've left early. Millwall the other day to try and avoid the gates shutting, that 3-0 stockport game that sent us down after the red card sat in the rain in the paddocks and sadly that Brentford game. Felt sick after that one. [Post edited 26 Feb 2022 9:28]
