What he actually said. Not much to disagree with or criticise. Not pulling any punches. Thought the 2nd half was terrible, testimonial paced and also said the communication between the younger players had to be better.

I don't think he sounds dispirited or frazzled, as on the other thread, just frustrated and as he said, he obviously had a right go at them at the end, which is rare.

Must be very frustrating being a manager of a good bunch of players and watch them effectively self harming their chances.

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

He sounds proper pissed off - but not nearly as much as we are watching a talented team not perform again

I thought Mark was refreshingly honest. He could've easily reverted to tired old cliches like "looking after the football" and "getting your rewards". Instead he admitted that the second half performance wasn't good enough and he'd given the players a rollicking at full-time. How they react to it remains to be seen.

He did get a little deep with his views on the youth of today but there is some truth in it. The team is too reliant on senior players for character, and some of the younger players are reticent to call them out on their shortcomings. I can imagine a young Rodney Marsh 'politely' telling Barbet to step away from free kicks but Chair just accepts it and moves aside. However, this is not a recent phenomenon (as confirmed by Danny Maddix), so Warburton should really develop the tools to deal with it and factor character into recruitment decisions.

In the meantime, Johansen and Austin need to step up and provide the leadership that they were recruited for in the first place.

Maybe get off you’re arse and change things during the game when it’s clearly not working rather than be so fking stuburn to think plan a will work out eventually!

He's right about communication and leadership though. Dunne looks to have leadership qualities. I see less of that in Dickie and Barbet. Field leads by example but he doesn't look like a shouter. We're in real need of an in form Johansen back in the side.

It's all too slow, sideways backwards at such a slow pace and when there's a chance to go
Forward its shunned for another side ball. Too slow and too predictable.
All gone tits up since Chair came back and that's not blaming chair.
Games up for this year but it's been a good ride while it lasted

There's a failure of leadership, communication, character and belief right through the team right now, young and old, and exactly at the time it matters, which suggests to me a lack of desire and real aspiration, sadly. However, if the management team were genuinely telling the players to go out in the 2nd half today and play on the front foot, that clearly extends to Warburton, Eustace and Banfield, who, I fear, are increasingly becoming part of the problem. How else to explain what we witnessed today? But it's clear that JJ, Austin and Gray - who should be three of our more experienced leaders - have fallen badly short.

He is very reactive in his game management. Glad to hear he told the players a few home - truths. Let's see how they respond.

That must have stung for Warbs… Cardiff are the definition of everything he doesn’t like about football (a horrible troglodyte of a team) and although we ‘out-played’ them, they out-smarted us.

Thoroughly pissed off with things tonight and the usual lame excuses.

And they won. Warburton needs to forget about his precious "total football" and find a way for us to turn this around. Problem is, we don't have the players for the Tippy - Tappy or Troglodyte game. Stuck between "a rock and a hard place".

We lacked experienced leaders on the pitch today on the pitch. We were showboating and coasting and looking like we were Fulham, 10 points ahead of the pack, rather than a team in thick of playoff place scrap....inexperience or arrogance or both?...either way Chaz and Stef wouldn't have tolerated it i reckon.

Who sadly (and rightly) weren't even in the squad today, because of their lack of positive influence.

They were ill I thought? Might have got us over the line today against a poor team, but their respective performances this season haven't been very good. Time for them to step up.

Quite an amusing post considering he recently started two games without a striker. He has changed from four at the back to three. He is constantly tweaking personnel in the wing back, central mid-field and strikers. But yeah it's all Plan A really

I thought his best point was that we played as if we were 5-0 ahead in the second half.

Why didn't he change things then? It was calling out for some energy from the bench before they equalised but he just did nothing. Completely out-thought by their manager, who made changes at the right time, including the guy who got the equaliser. Warburton's a mid-table coach who will never get you beyond that, as he demonstrated today. The club should be looking for the next one now - someone who plays fast, attacking football. Obviously they won't be.

I don't think he thought he had any options on the bench.

I'll be honest. I don't think he has a lot of belief in this set of players at the moment.

MW saying all the right things admittedly but there were a number of new concerns that I hadn’t seen this season.

Even at 1-0 the side were losing shape, incredibly ill disciplined across the park. I rate Dunne highly but his positioning went out the window second half. When a player like that loses focus you start to wonder if the players have stopped listening.

We also seem to be coming out late every second half recently, hope that’s not signs of an unruly class.

Will give him credit for changing things recently from match to match but when it clearly doesn’t work , we just carry on until it’s too late .
When we are so abject he needs to visibly shake things up and accept either he has set us up wrong or he has been out smarted by the opposition earlier in the match like when we went 2 down against Barnsley .

Hendrick was supposed to be this might Prem player, but is he really any better than Dozzel or Amos?

Well, Amos at least has scored since Hendrick has come in and even Thomas has an assist since then.

Not saying Hendrick is bad, he's not, he's a useful player, but he does not run in behind like JoJo does and he's costing us a lot of money for not that much extra we can get from the bench even if JoJo is injured.

Hendrick is not the answer.

We have dropped major points with Dull and Bardiff. I doubt we can make the playoffs now as we get too many injuries to our key players and the ones who are not injured seemed knackered.

zzzzzzzzzz

So after a year of results that would be good enough for top 2, one bad month and you want a new manager!

Who do you have in mind????

Ultimately, form over a calendar year doesn't get you anywhere. I don't know; I have a full-time job and am not paid hundreds of thousands of pounds a year as our DoF to find the next manager. For all the rhetoric of how well we've being doing, we would currently have just 11 points more than Derby if they hadn't had their points deduction.

So you are not qualified to select a new manager, but you are qualified enough to want to get rid of the current manager.

What's Derby got to do with anything?
