| Jeff Hendricks Signing 11:20 - Mar 13 with 6300 views | numptydumpty | IMO the reason for our slump A player that wasn't getting any game time in a very poor Premier league team, waltzes into our first team and has been first choice centre mid ever since. Dozell and Ball have had periods of excellent form this season. Amos has shown great character after coming back from second potential career threatening injury. Sam Field has come back strong and consistent. Thomas was showing great endeavour as an impact sub. Johansen although out of form has undoubted quality. Think all of the above could potentially have had their nose put out of joint by Hendricks arrival and is it coincidence that since he been picked our form has slumped. The squad were all being kept happy and tbf I fear this scenario has behind the scenes upset the apples in the cart. Such an unnecessary signing and seemed to happen as we could not find attacking player where we needed more depth. Hope I am proved wrong and results, performances and most importantly squad togetherness re formed and strong. Appreciate its an easy assumption to make and we not know if all midfielders adversely affected by this decision are actually a tad miffed but its a conclusion as a fan I am currently assuming. Hopefully not but one of the weirdest unnecessary signings that I potentially have witnessed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, is the phrase that comes to mind. Three goals and three assists from Hendricks today and I stand corrected please !!!! | |

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 14:30 - Mar 13 with 4009 views | LongsufferingR | I wouldn't say he's the only reason for the slump but much as he's a decent player, I struggle to see what he adds to the team that others weren't already providing. I'd have him on the bench, not starting. | | | |

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 14:47 - Mar 13 with 3899 views | dmm | I too don't see what he adds to the team. He's a tidy 'pot boiler' player but with little end product. I'd much rather we played Amos. | | | |

He didn't come on in his "place". Amos was playing well up in attacking midfield, Hendrick defensive. Warburton going for a point or at least a cautious start packing the midfield. We needed to go more attacking once they scored. Worked out well in the end! Hendrick also bad an "assist" playing the ball into Gray in the penalty area for his run which won the pen, plus setting up Moses for a dangerous cross. [Post edited 14 Mar 2022 17:54]

Agreed. Hendrick does not drop in behind the opposition defence as an extra runner like JoJo does so, therefore breakaways are more difficult as he will be in the wrong position for them. He's close to Field type player than a JoJo one. Really we did better when it was JoJo and Field rather than all 3. This leaves the capability to either play an extra winger, attacking mid (Amos, Thomas) or make it two upfront. Once we were with Chaz and Gray upfront then we actually retained the ball in more attacking positions. It was super hard for Gray today as really hold up is not his game. We need Dykes back pronto. I am not really sure we should have signed Hendricks as we have so many defensive midfielders anyway. Field, Ball, Dozzell and JoJo can play there if needed. I feel he's being played because they are hoping he will do some Prem magic as Gray did for the pen today. But I don't see it. Apart from the obvious of a wins a win, the great part today was the defence was really good and really limited Luton to a lucky shot on goal. Hendrick needs to be on the subs bench if Field is fit. Which he is.

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 18:23 - Mar 13 with 2968 views | Mick_S | I think he’ll do a job for us between now and the end of the season. Not a good first half today, but he’s here to protect some of our lot that can’t fire up every week. Gives them a chance to recover, rather than burn out. | |

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 18:26 - Mar 13 with 2946 views | numptydumpty | Warburton seems to like experience above form some times. Seems be the reason for the signing. Happy with the result but was an absolute shocker of a game. We improved with Amos and Willock. I guess we won so no complaints today but still I be bit peeved if Hendricks is a starter against Forest... Warburton changed tack when three centre backs and wingbacks suited us and he reacted today. We were better but it was a day just about the result. But Hendricks signing has he got photographic evidence of Warbs in a state of undress with a supermodel.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 | |

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 18:39 - Mar 13 with 2859 views | LowerloftLad | All the bloke wants to do is pass the ball directly back to whoever just passed him the ball, I'm sure it was his silly just pass it back ball that lead to the Cardiff getting the chance to make it 1-1 last week aswell. | |

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 18:47 - Mar 13 with 2815 views | kernowhoop | Have faith in those that signed him and remember that, in the latter part of a promotion campaign, players that have been around the block can be good to have around, even if they are not the most talented on the pitch. | | | |
| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 18:57 - Mar 13 with 2769 views | dixiedean | I think it’s over simplifying it to lay the blame at Hendrick’s door . Several other players have been below par in the same period (Chair, Dickie, Stef) plus an almost complete lack of input from the 3 strikers - when fit . I’d be surprised if Warbs would allow a bad dressing room atmosphere to develop because of one new arrival but only he’d know that . The drop in form also coincided with Chair walking back into the team after AFCON, so it’s a combination of factors, not all down to Hendrick IMO. | | | |

The 'hard man' in the team is Field and, when he plays, Ball. It's not really Johansen and certainly not Hendrick who rarely puts a tackle in, hard, soft or otherwise!

| Jeff Hendricks Signing on 19:14 - Mar 13 with 2661 views | bakerloo8 | Chair, Dickie and Stef have loads of credit in the bank with us though, as all 3 have been brilliant for us since they've been here. I'm yet to see Hendrick do anything but disappoint. Hopefully he will find form quickly. | | | |

If you're going to quote from the Book of Revelation Don't be calling it the Book of Revelations There's no "s" it's the Book of Revelation as revealed to St John The Divine. See also Mary Hopkin. She must despair. I guess we can add Jeff Hendrick to that list too.

I do enjoy a bit of pedantry now and then, so I'll join in. The bloke who actually wrote the thing referred to it as: "The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place." You've quoted the title the church later gave this piece of writing which, by the way, isn't a book. The author, John, would not have recognised being called 'St John the Divine' which was, again, a title the church later gave him. Sorry, I'll shut up now

Great post and going off today it looks like Chair might have hit rock bottom. He was invisible and basically a marked man combined with that nasty tackle from behind at half (unpunished of course ) he blew his top. It might be a huge wake up call for him watching the boys pull it out without him like AFCON absence so look for him to pick it back up for the final push. I believe Hendrick will deliver when the pressure is really intense in April because the man might be public enemy no 1 right now but he can really play IMO
