Following on from the melancholy thread, anybody been party to strange ones being played at funerals, cremations etc.
I’ll start
Steve Edwards life long Rangers fan at his cremation in Chichester had Pig Bag playing as he went into the burner.
Went to a neighbours a couple of years back he had “Feeling, Hot, Hot, Hot” playing as the curtains drew around him !

My uncle had a QPR flag on the coffin and was wearing his Rangers scarf. They played High Ho Silver Lining and then Always Look on the Bright Side of Life as he went into the furnace.

At his old mate's funeral, a friend of mine gave his eulogy with lots of anecdotes that had us in stitches with laughter.

The memorable service ended with friends and family dancing round the coffin to 'Sweet Caroline' I've never laughed so much at a funeral!

I went to a wife's family members funeral and he had some Ibiza trance track blasted out. Which was weird cos he was a quiet, unassuming 60 year old whom had also had a load of folk music before.

I think his daughter must have chosen.

Sexy Asian dwarves wanted.

Years ago the dean of Southwark Cathedral, who was known as a bit of a joker, had 'The Teddy Bears Picnic' played as the Anglican bishops and priests in all their finery processed behind his coffin as it was brought into the cathedral.

Sorry to hear about your missus. Better stay on her good side and don’t die first or she may play it at yours.

She’d only do it out of spite.I’ll get the last laugh when she opens the Will and finds out that I’ve left it all to Battersea dogs home.

At my Dads funeral we had the Welsh 'anthem ' Land of my Fathers played, then the BBC commentary to Gareth Edward's try for the Ba Ba's against New Zealand in 1973. My Dad always said it was the greatest try ever scored. I think he would of loved it.

A good friend of mine lost his battle with cancer this year. A man of impeccable taste in life and death it seems. This was his choice for the funeral. RIP mate.

Played Land of my Fathers at my dad's funeral too.

Iconic commentary by Cliff Morgan and it's difficult to disagree with your dad about Gareth Edwards' try...what a score

You need something people can shed a tear to if they need, and something to send them out of the Crem not feeling suicidal.

These are my two:

I know it’s popular to have pop music at funerals but it’s really not my cuppa. Call me a traditionalist but I’m having this..

Played these two at my dad's. Checked with the lovely Italian family over the road that it wasn't hideously inappropriate.

Walked into the church that day as a 14 year old, and so many of the faces there I still see every week at QPR.

Careful what you pick, it basically means you can't listen to that piece of music again without crumpling.

Held Mum’s funeral last month. She was born in St Barts and was a proud Londoner and cockney, President of the Paddington British Legion and a Freeman of the City of London, and yes, she did drive a flock of sheep over London Bridge, as was her right. Her coffin was led into the chapel by a British Legion standard bearer and we followed Mum to the tune of ‘Maybe it’s Because I’m a Londoner’. The service closed to ‘Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye’. The reception was held at the Legion with pie and mash in plenty of supply. Mum would have loved it.

Pretty sure I am not having a funeral , the whole process just tortures those left behind . My last act of protecting Mrs Taxiboy and my 3 boys although they are not happy about it .
