and your right...... double funeral that day, johns being the second. lots of well wishers to johns in colours, as we played watford in the cup that night.
a long and sad, but enjoyable night, bar the result and funeral.
I went to a wife's family members funeral and he had some Ibiza trance track blasted out. Which was weird cos he was a quiet, unassuming 60 year old whom had also had a load of folk music before.
I think his daughter must have chosen.
Sexy Asian dwarves wanted.

Years ago the dean of Southwark Cathedral, who was known as a bit of a joker, had 'The Teddy Bears Picnic' played as the Anglican bishops and priests in all their finery processed behind his coffin as it was brought into the cathedral.
I’m going to dig out my old loftus road runners single from the 70’s for mine. That’s bound to steal the show.Maybe followed by Bright side of life or Light my fire. My Mrs says she is going to get Bl@e is the colour instead.

Sorry to hear about your missus. Better stay on her good side and don’t die first or she may play it at yours.

At my Dads funeral we had the Welsh 'anthem ' Land of my Fathers played, then the BBC commentary to Gareth Edward's try for the Ba Ba's against New Zealand in 1973. My Dad always said it was the greatest try ever scored. I think he would of loved it.
A good friend of mine lost his battle with cancer this year. A man of impeccable taste in life and death it seems. This was his choice for the funeral. RIP mate.

Played Land of my Fathers at my dad's funeral too.
Iconic commentary by Cliff Morgan and it's difficult to disagree with your dad about Gareth Edwards' try...what a score

Held Mum’s funeral last month. She was born in St Barts and was a proud Londoner and cockney, President of the Paddington British Legion and a Freeman of the City of London, and yes, she did drive a flock of sheep over London Bridge, as was her right. Her coffin was led into the chapel by a British Legion standard bearer and we followed Mum to the tune of ‘Maybe it’s Because I’m a Londoner’. The service closed to ‘Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye’. The reception was held at the Legion with pie and mash in plenty of supply. Mum would have loved it.

Pretty sure I am not having a funeral , the whole process just tortures those left behind . My last act of protecting Mrs Taxiboy and my 3 boys although they are not happy about it .
