League Cup 22:08 - Dec 21 with 2915 viewsdaveB

Charlton are now in the quarter finals , beat Brighton on penalties tonight, real wasted opportunity throwing that one away back in August

Just shows how important it is for us to take the FA Cup seriously. Keep getting the voilins out and saying we have no money, yet simultaneously field weakened teams in cup games. Hopefully Critchley plays a strong side against Fleetwood.

I see that Mac Allister geezer didn’t turn out for Brighton. Lightweight!

Probably in shock after almost getting his head cut off by that wire ( might have been a good idea to check out the route first ) or watching those idiots trying to Jump onto the bus .
I know they did not win since 1978 but those fools destroyed it for everyone waiting to see the cup pity really.
Watched Man Utd V Burnley and they looked outclassed which does not bode well for the Championship teams going up

Who cares about Charlton , as if a third tier team from an unfashionable part of London could ever win a cup!

Poll: Thank God The Seaons Over.

Cup runs, dreams of seeing our club contest a major cup final?

The club abandoned those many moons ago, I'm afraid.

A bit like our victory lap of honour spoilt by dickheads in 2011,who couldn’t contain themselves long enough to allow the team to parade the trophy ALL the way around the ground instead of just their bit before invading the pitch.

If he wants to know about our back ups, read this: they are really poor and you might as well put a team of triallists out.

Maybe give Archer a run out but a team including Nico, Bonne, Thomas, Masterson, Gubbins, etc. would struggle against National League oppo. Play 'em; it really won' t be the difference between getting in the play offs or not...

Can we go out yet?
Poll: What would you take for Willock if a bid comes this month?

I know what you're saying Dave but we wouldn't have beaten Brighton, let alone Stevenage (A), Walsall (A) or Charlton (A)!!!!!

A sad state for the club.

And we wouldn't have played those clubs!

The numbers for the draw in the League Cup is in alphabetical order. I've no idea who we would have played in the second round, but it definitely wouldn't have been away to Walsall.

Unlike the early rounds of the league cup, albeit it follows to busy Christmas period, the FA third round is in a relatively quiet part of the season. We play on the Monday evening before it and not again until the following Saturday. We don't, currently, have a midweek game in 2023 until the 14th February. In fact we have a plethora of Saturday 3pm kick offs!1

No excuse, for not playing our strongest available team.

No excuse is right, but somehow I think a mix of 1st team and reserves will be named for the game.

The club needs money and the prize money for each round, share of gate receipts and possible TV money makes it worthwhile for QPR to try and go as far as they can in it.

It will be interesting to see how NC approaches it and, we won't know, but if pressure is brought from above to play a strong team with minimal changes.
