Somewhere around your mid to late fifties, your PC coughs and splutters its last breath, all your emails are on the dying hard drive, the backup fails and the cloud storage is full. You've been diligently keeping them all in a nicely structured folder system but now they're all gone and you say....meh, do I really need them anyway? (This is followed by more frequent visits to the tip, shedding all the crap you've been accumulating over the last 40 years).
Also, you know time is flying by when you have to stop saying "She's nice....but I'm older than her dad!" and start saying "but I could be her grandad!"

Some c*nt said to me when I was 21 'it all flies by from now' and I was like 'f*ck you, old man.'
The man was correct. From about 45 I've been shocked at how fast each year is passing. I mean it's September now. September 2023. Shut the f**k up.
It's when you think about films that you really notice it. Like take Kill Bill 2 for example. That's not all that long ago, right.
2004. 19 years, bitch!

don't worry, the future is only around for as long as you are
I'm comforted by that. I'll be super pissed off if there's an afterlife.
Everyone's like 'Wah! The environment! Wah! The economy! Wah! Nuclear weapons! Wah! The complete breakdown of the social contract! Wah!' and I'm like look, I've probably got no more than 30 years left on this planet but I've got no kids and I don't give a f**k. Just try not to break the planet before I f*ck off to Dignitas for my bye bye pill.
They're all real issues and I sympathise with the young 'uns who have to deal with the bullshit but they're all addicted to TikTok or whatever so they're not going to fix owt.
I've done my bit for the planet. No kids. ULEZ compliant car. I don't think I'll be getting on a plane any time soon. I do my recycling. I've planted a lot of flowers including some lavender so the bees are happy in my garden. Beyond that, f*ck it.

They say you see time as a percentage of your life, so when you’re Ten a year is ten per cent of your life but at 50 it’s only 2percent hence time seems to speed up as you get older. Not sure how that works when you’re over 100 years old. Also when playing a gig an hour seems to last about five minutes.

Say you live to be 84. Every 7 years is a month of the year. It's around about August that you realise months become weeks, weeks become days and days become hours! I'm already into the leaf dropping part of my life-October. AGE? Sgt Pepper side 2 track 2. (There you go showing my age!) I can't believe it...

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

As a serious reply to the post, which I am reading as serious and responding similarly as it suggests that there is either regret or fear, you CAN actually slow time down so that life doesn't run away from you.
(For those who want a flippant reply please ignore this as I am trying to help, in a way that someone once helped me! )
This can be (and is for many) very scary.
I am not a psychologist but someone explained the following two strategies. You may find them utter nonsense and apologies if you do--but they have worked for me, to calm the fears about the future and sense of life running away.
First Strategy:
You need to mentally re-boot your concept of time as running too fast. Pick a moment for the re-boot (it can be anytime you choose - when you finish reading this post or at the next o'clock.
When you are ready, have a clock/ watch that shows seconds passing so that you can time a minute. Then simply watch a minute pass by- don't think of anything else- just watch the seconds pass!
Then, for another watched and timed minute, when you are ready, think of as many similar things that you like - Rangers players, grounds you have visited, teams in the Championship etc and see how many you get in 60 seconds/ 1 minute.
You will see that there is a heck of a lot of thinking that can be done in one minute and then, if you realise that there is 60 times more that can be done in just one hour and that there are so many hours each day your mental awareness of time is that it actually expands as opposed to contracts.
Second strategy (and this goes back to someone called Dale Carnegie and his book 'How to Stop Worrying' and start enjoying life':)
Imagine, for a moment, you are in command of a submarine (he wrote this in the war) and you have strong bulkhead doors between you (in the central control room) and the rear of the submarine and the front. When under attack, you would close those doors and solely focus on what is happening in your part of the vessel. If there is a breach in the rear section, the doors protect you and those in the centre and front.
Similarly, if there is a breach in he front of the submarine, the doors protect you and all those in the centre and rear.
So now consider that the submarine is your mind and worries that are therein about the past (rear of the submarine) or the future (the front of the submarine). If you have worries, regrets about the past that are bothering you, mentally close down the bulkhead doors and know that you have to leave them be - no matter what. You cannot change them, save them and to open the mental bulkhead doors to think about them will only flood where you are and the 'now'.
It follows that if you are worrying about the future and those thoughts are flooding your now, then you have to shut the mental bulkhead doors and say that to be able to consider the best options, you cannot have those thoughts leaking into your 'now' in the control centre.
It may take you a bit of time to see that this works but it does enable you to take back control of your mind and separate the now from the future and so doing, enable you to be able to plan and control your life.
Good luck

Working in the building game requires lots of on line inductions which is a challenging when your somebody who finished school in the eighties when home computers were rare. Lots of these inductions ask for a photo of your mush. Try as might , I can’t get a decent angle for a good photo. The problem is at 58 , there are no good angles. It’s because at my age my face is starting to resemble a melting candle . All going south sadly! There’s not all lot any of us can do about. Go with it and enjoy life. Supporting QPR sets you up for disappointment but by god the highs are so high when it does happen.

The future is overrated, George Bernard Shaw said that the only new experience modern man has is speed. And that was a hundred years back. I can see his point I think. If you watch a movie or TV or listen to music at home, that's not new - it's just like going to the theatre or a concert.
