Yes, I find the lack of chants for Julien Stephan, at home games especially, is very very strange. Maybe as it has been mentioned by a few on here, that he is Nourry's man, more so perhaps than Cifuentes. And he is guilty by way of association. I think he is his own man myself and doesnt always tow the party line, anyhow.
Cifuentes' name rang around Loftus Road, almost from day one, yet Stephan, who has had more success and several players have showcased big improvements, at times, throughout the season also.
The guy deserves better, for sure, from ourselves...
Let's have a few chants for him, next time around, as he is doing a half decent job... |  |

Maybe one for the folk who arranged the ‘last Christmas’ variation at home to Leicester .
Came and went for 90 minutes . Very odd
But to maybe answer the question , his name with Anglo French pronunciation is a little harder to fit into verse than other names .
Would be good if someone , with more of an imagination than me could come up with something though .

I think an argument could be made that a three-syllable first name could be incorporated into the ‘blue and white army’ chant but it would also require a three-syllable surname. Clearly ‘Stéphan’ only has two so perhaps an additional ‘ah’ or ‘uh’ (in the manner of the late Mark E Smith from the Fall) could be appended to the Frenchman’s moniker: so ‘Ju-li-en Sté-phan-ah’s blue and white army’. I hear you, Dutch, but for me the two-syllable surname in this instance (with or without the ‘s’) becomes, almost imperceptibly I’ll grant you, too drawn out. Fine margins and all a matter of individual taste though. Where are Lennon and McCartney when you need them? | | | |
