A most disappointing signing - looks crocked, starts a game - looks anonymous and sits down injured after half an hour. Been the same since he went off against Preston in the first game of the season. Even last night before his latest injury looked out of sorts and not up for it. We have far too many similar players like Poku, Dembele and Saito who are not cutting it at this level.

I've still got high hopes for him but what a disaster of a first season he's had.
Is that three separate hamstring injuries all the same now? Four? Somebody's head should be on the block for that.
What are we even playing him for in these games? Just say you're done this season, and focus every bit of time and effort we've got on making sure he's ship shape for August. He'll miss most of the pre-season now.

contact injury, c'mon get with the programme!

I reckon he was pushed into the team to show that the performance guys got Poku fit on schedule etc...

Remember, we've had 90% availability this season, sorry you can't always see your favourite players on a Saturday

Our handling of him has been appalling.

3 hamstring injuries in one season is a farce.

He missed 3 months last season with a hammy so they knew what they were getting.

3 hamstring injuries tells you that on at least one occasion we have brought him back too soon.

But, when you add the hamstrings Burrell, Madsen, and Chair have all suffered from, you have to consider that our Performance function is displaying gross incompetence in how they handle players’ strength and conditioning, not least of their hamstrings.

So true, out of all the players that needed to come back and get minutes, considering how his season has gone ad specific injury he has, he is definitely one that should have been left until pre season. Played an hour on Saturday, and 3 days later starts again, in a nothing game.

Our medical team continue to defy logic and any remote semblance of competence.

Are we going to have the same with Obikwu?

I think we probably classify a phone call attempt as a ‘contact’ injury…..a Butt dial is close enough to a hamstring, out for 3 months.

Burrell looks like he shouldn’t be back yet either - much as I’m happy he is, it wouldn’t take much to see him out as well - Madsen too for that matter.

Wrap them up, pack them off, bring them back properly prepared. Not as if we are killing games with them, so maybe let’s not kill the better players whilst we bend over and get jolly rogered.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Our horrible habit of a. buying players with quite serious injury histories and b.
consistently rushing them back so they can break down a game or so later.

Never knowingly right.

Just not good enough. The medical team are at fault either for not assessing the injury when he was brought in and not passing his medical or not managing it properly. We can’t afford to lose key investments like this for most of the season,

The curse of the Brooklyn Nets.

Or the curse of the Loftus Road pitch.

Maybe we could appoint a specialist Head of Hamstring Performance.

Or just someone who knows what they're doing with footballer injuries.

Doesn’t it just need a bit of common sense though? He’s been riddled with hamstring issues all season. We’re not going up, we’re not going down. We have 3 games left. He’s started his first game 3 days ago, after a few sub appearances. And yet they decide to start him again????!!

I've said the same thing on this fella a number of times and I'll wager £100 with anyone that I wont be wrong in my previous statements on him:-

"The lad won’t make more than 50 full appearances across his Contract."

The Poku debate by Lblock 11 Mar 15:48
This can also be a problem - when discussing this previously I sighted the high profile case of Michael Owen who was pushed too hard too young and his hammys were an issue thereafter.

I'm wise after the event on Poku admittedly but football isn't my business.
I've said on here before that when we were linked a fella I worked with who lives up that way and has Posh connections told me Darragh was having us over and delighted to be getting £900k as the lad would have ongoing injury issues after a huge spell out for them.

Like I say.... I am just a mug punter but.....if someone says to me "here is player X, was absolutey electric, looked to be going places, career held up due to a hamstring injury last year when he was out for six months"; then I'm getting VERY strong Chris Willock vibes to be honest.

But then what do I know?

Nourryvirus been done up like a kipper on this one and the club is yet again sidelled with a player on a decent Contract for another 3 years which will just be a drain on the budget in terms of outlay versus return.

More to be said on the transfer policy and concerns for next season on other threads next few weeks no doubt.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I think you will find the 90% availability is across all levels including the women, not just the first team squad. A misleading stat put out by the club.

Burrell is now back from injury, and this lad (does he even exist) is still nowhere to be seen

I don't understand this all the recovery markers indicated that he was more than ready for the Paris-Roubaix on the 12th.
I'm at a loss on this one.

Agree it was stupid to play him last night. Smyth should have played or maybe Esquerdinha in an attacking role.

QPR will end the season between 15th and 17th and it doesn't make sense to play the dead rubber games with players struggling with their fitness. Unless Madsen, Chair and Burrell really feel fit to play, they should be rested.

QPR will probably lose to Derby and Ipswich anyway, so why risk injuries to these 3 players that will ruin their pre season's training and fitness programmes. They will be needed from the start of next season.

Totally. Same with bringing Madsen and Chair on second half rather than starting, resting Kone and not picking Mbengue so he won’t get a suspension at the beginning of next season.

Justin Obikwu. Suffered a fibula injury almost the moment he arrived in mid January. Over three months later he's still unavailable.
