Eze being valued at £20m I've read. Also read that Spurs value their defender at £4m

Surely the only striker we could afford would be less than a million, therefore the guy in Scotland?

Quite a few are out of contract in the summer.

The Wells rumours are starting to spread. Wigan And Bristol City now.

While he wants to stay, we don't have anything else going for us as he is on loan.
It may be a Burnley led thing by agents to get a fee for him - If we can afford anything, it may be worth putting in a permanent bid.

Because we have a strict wage structure which we would likely have to break in order to sign a 29 year old on a 3-4 year deal

I like Wells but 4 games ago he looked absolutely shot to pieces and was missing chance after chance, in red hot form the last 3 games but still wouldn't be spending 3 million on him

Burnley just want him off their wage bill, they won't be much interested in a fee, and no club is going to offer anything significant when they can try for him for free in a few months.

Wells can start negotiating a new deal with someone now so I'd be surprised if we haven't had at least preliminary talks with his agent in trying to secure some sort of deal. Mind you, he's 30 in June so I expect he'll be looking for one last big payday which might be beyond our means, unless £20-25m is looking likely to come in, in the summer...

I'm not exactly sure Wells would be moving for money. He's made £4m at Burnley plus various add ons. He doesn't need the money but he does love playing regular football, He'll get that here for a few years, even if it is on a lower basic. Then he can stroll off to the MLS or China and make a shed load if he needs to.

I am well aware of the strict wage structure and agree with it as well.

Let us just see how it pans out. I wouldn't say it is impossible and nor would I assume it is a 3 or 4 year deal.
