Leicester (especially with Champ League football) would surely be a great move for him. From our point of view, if one or two other clubs ARE coming in now and the club can't use that to leverage a higher fee, it'll be another sickener. Does our CEO or anyone understand how negotiation in business works? What possible benefit is there to us in biting off the hand of the first club that comes calling for an asset under contract?

F*cking amateurs!

But all the talk is that they will MATCH the offer.
As we have accepted the offer from Bruges already, we can't reject it if we get a bigger one, can we?

Of couse we could. It was even sugested that Burnley had agreed for Wells to join Rangers in January until Bristol City offered a higher price.

It happens all the time in football & back in my younger days it was nearly impossible to buy a house for the price that was first agreed.

Whether it is ethical is a different question

Would the club be happy selling Bright, Eze and Manning? Would Eze be kept on if we sell the other two as he has longer on his contract or are we banking on cashing in on all three this window?

I'm wondering the same. Personally I thought/wished we'd sell Eze and Manning, give Bright a restructured deal with a higher salary, and then show what he can do for a full season. Would have resulted in 10-15 mil.

But I'm assuming BOS wanted his move now, which I can't blame.

Both Manning and Eze had very good games yesterday and I'm sure the watching Moyse had nothing to do with it!

Your question kind of answers itself

The only way we’d be bound to the contract (if there even was one) is if it contained what is called a no shop provision (eg you can’t go looking for other buyers) Why would Bruges agree to let us spurn their offer for another at the same price, but then prevent us from accepting a bid at a higher price?

In football, nothing is official until the ink is dry. The fact that others are now coming in for him suggests that it clearly is not

From a negotiation perspective, qpr may have harmed themselves by stating that the offer was for 5m, thereby setting a floor price (why not leak that it was higher?). But then again, it’s also kind of hard to come out and lie

Separately, i do wonder whether we also sit Manning and Eze for the West Brom match. There is literally zero upside. They play and we win, and we get Brentford promoted. No one would be happy with that. And we’re running the risk that one gets nnjured before they’re up for moves

If we played and win, I would be extremely happy. I don't care if Brentford get promoted, I like the club just not poison pete, and we could always say because we did you a favour, ha!

The only time the above wouldn't apply would be if it was the scum, or scum associated.

This is the issue I posted about on the other thread: QPR have accepted the offer of 5 million Euros from Bruges so have clearly indicated this is the amount they would accept so why would any other club bid any more than this?
If they want to sign the player it is BOS they need to convince to join them: QPR have already made it clear that 5 million Euros is enough to buy the player so no need to enter a bidding war I would have thought?

True to a point but if someone suddenly bid 6 million, we could say ok to 6, no to 5. It might then cause a us problem if the player said I don't want to go to the club that bid 6.

Of course, if he has a release clause in his contract then all of that is irrelevant.

You are correct. This would be a good strategy as well, I agree.

But BOS agent said NO to all future contract offers no matter what they were. So, he had decided, he's off.

This is actually quite good to know upfront, makes getting rid of easier. As the club and player knows where they stand.

I suspect Manning wants a great deal to stay or a move. He will get the move instead. As we know his stats look great, but he is not key player for us. We can replace Manning, not easily, but it can be done. Kakay coming through has saved us monies on a RB for next season.

zzzzzzzzzz

I'd love to go into a negotiation meeting with people at QPR, I reckon I'd be able to retire off the strength of it.

Who are they trying to emulate? Got to be Peter Risdale of Leeds clueless spending fame.
That Seth Johnson story still cracks me up whenever I hear about it and his salary deal meeting with them.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

The Seth Johnson story is a myth, much like anyone knowing anything about how the club are dealing with negotiations at the moment!

Can't we buy him a season ticket so he can watch us every week ?
