What a manager he is .Never should have let him go

Only ever a surprise to the board and DoF.

The problem was, Bobbi, that he didn't want to stay on as Manager, though, to be fair. The Board brought him back but he didn't want to stay as Manager.

He wanted to be DoF. Was the Board expected to just turn around and sack Ferdinand? Or was Ferdinand supposed to offer up his job and employment? Genuinely?

I don't really get the point of banging on about Warnock all the time.
He's moved on - can we?

Coming in the dressing room at Derby away with Ramsey in charge didn’t help his cause.

When he got us promoted to premier league we shafted him.

Hard to blame them, I think. They had to move on. Wonder why he didn't want the gig full time? A crying shame.

Ya, we did alright.

I can't remember what I thought at the time, but he should have got more time.

My view is no they didn’t

He didn’t fit the profile desired at the time and also I think it was a “Les or Warnock” situation
It sums up what clowns we have running this place that we burned King Warnock not once but twice

He should have been given a full season in the PL regardless of whether we ended up relegated or not. This would have been a fitting reward for the fantastic job he did in getting as promoted. Also he would have been the best man to get us back up.

He was sacked, with us on a bad run but outside the relegation places, because the Board thought Hughesless was the man to move us up a level. What an error that proved to be.

However that ship has sailed and I'm not sure it would have worked second time round, as I don't think he would thrive long-term in our current structure with a Director of Football.

I've seen you say that before, LB, but they brought him back to the club as an advisor, then appointed him temporary manager, then offered it to him full-time. Warnock himself said that he didn't want it, that he wanted an upstairs gig. I'm just not sure where this notion comes from that we could have hypnotised him into wanting it.

I think it's a shame because no-one since has come close to matching him but giving him two jobs and offering him the big job doesn't seem like burning to me to be fair.

First time round, definitely agree.

Neil Warnock left the club nearly 9 years ago. It was a mistake then, we should've kept him and eaten relegation had it come and then either moved on or used the money to rebuild. Or obviously kept him on had we stayed up, which, even as it was, was pretty miraculous considering the run of teams we beat at home to stay up.

Neil Warnock came back later and steadied a wobbly ship, winning two, drawing one and losing one. We scored two goals in four games. At that time, Warnock was saying he wanted to be a DoF, not really a manager. Perhaps we could've pushed the boat out to get him. Perhaps he didn't want the job. The fact is, he didn't come. That was now 5 years ago.

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. GET OVER IT. HE IS NEVER COMING BACK.

Bare bones.

Agree with the 'didn't fit the profile' point.

Same.

I think a music analogy could be in store here.

The Stone Roses first album vs the Second Coming. Both good albums but the first was special.

Bloody hell Antti, I mean, sound post but 9 bloody years?

It was not long after my wife died, seen my daughter grow up and leave home, but it still seems like yesterday we got our hands on that beautiful trophy.

9 bloody years. Speeding towards the grave and can't find the brake pedal. World turning to ratshit all around me.

PS you're dead right about Warnock.

My youngest daughter was 8 1/2 at the start of that season and she couldn’t believe that it ever be any different than adel and akos scoring every week.
Now she drives me everywhere and doesn’t go anymore. She did enjoy some great games though, especially Everton away in our first premier league season in 2011.

I remember in the lead up to and during the game at MK Dons there was a lot of discontent from the fans about Warnock. Seemed a few months in the PL was making some fans think we needed a marquee manager to match our marquee aspirations.

Yet Cardiff fans are not to happy with his short term outlook and the players he bought in.

That game at MK was eye opening for me.
Huge crowd behind the goal singing 'Premier league, you're having a laugh' for large parts of the game and the injury to Ale amongst it as well. A thoroughly depressing game all told.
I can guarantee there's many a fan with a yearning for Warnock who were among those that day who ultimately led to his dismissal, that didn't happen overnight.

Neil warnock has consistently shown that he's the pretty much the ultimate championship manager. But not In the prem. But we clearly sacked him too quickly. I could never understand though why he changed our defense, which we won the league with, to put gabbidon in from an inferior side. Connolly and gorkks were great. Not like
He replaced them with van dijk

As long as Warnock is doing the business in the Championship, there will always be a 'look what you could have won' element about it. He's a speedboat, while we got the Bully tankard and our bus fare home in JFH.
