Dieng.

Thought his inclusion was going to be a flash in a pan knee jerk reaction due to fan pressure and Lumley’s poor form. I thought by Christmas we would have a mistake prone young keeper with broken confidence.

Now I’d dread to think where we we’d be without him.

What has everyone else been wrong about?

Harry Redknapp..

I backed him on here long after everyone else had him sussed. I think I got defensive when posters were mocking his facial condition in a personal way , maybe not remembering he got that way in a fatal car crash. I though that was a bit low .

I backed myself into a corner after that and found myself defending the indefensible .

notable, essex, that you and i have had barely a cross word since he left ;)

if i tried listing all the things i was wrong about on here, we'd be here all night.

Thought Hoilett was an unbelievable signing.
Ditto Caulker.
Thought we might be beating off Prem clubs coming in for Warbs (!)
etc etc etc

Bare bones.

Steve McClaren! That run we were going on up until Villa NYDay had me thinking he was more tactically astute than we gave him credit for, despite Clive
warning us in every match report about the imminent burn out if he didn't rest some players

Michelle She really was a nice girl
That the pig and whistle was a family pub
Phal curry it can't be that hot
Telling my daughters that supporting QPR is not all bad
Frank Mcklintock was past it
How hard can it be to get a degree in your 40s
We were always going to be the top London club
Resin drives are the way forward
If we keep trying we will get a boy..... 4 daughters later

ah, but at least you have a valid reason for keeping on trying.

I have a Facebook post from the summer of 2012 that happily pops up every year in the Memories bit reminding me that I did once post it.

I can't remember the exact wording, but it basically talks about how good QPR's signings were and how good our midfield was with Park, Granero, Faurlin, and Diakite (same here, I thought he would be the next Patrick Vieira) all bought for small money (in Prem terms) whilst Liverpool had just spunked £30m on Joe Allen.

As Clive frequently refers to his Steven Caulker signing piece, the kindest thing you can say about that post is it did not age well.

Well thats a good thing I reckon .

Life seems to be a bit easier as I realise I get things wrong every day and just hold my hands up .

Not sure I have learned every lesson mind you. I am thinking about touting Barton for the managers job... Tin hat at the ready !

Avenged Sevenfold.

I thought they were a generic emo pop/rock band just because of how they looked.
I was very, very wrong and happy to be as they are now one of my favourite bands.

I thought Dominic Shimmin would be great then I went to the Ricoh...

Olives. I used to hate them but my taste bubs must have done that 7 year regeneration thing and now I love them.

Taking a 20p bet with a kid at school when I’d never bet on Rangers, who said we’d lose, even gave me the draw as well.

Norwich away 1976.

I can only apologise. If I have one regret in life, it’s this, still troubles me to this day.

So you were the one.....
Remember driving up there with my brother and the drive home i dont think one word was spoken by either of us.... we knew then that we lost it.... got to be the lowest day of my football life.....though this lot now are doing their best to match it

You Bounder!

It's your fault I ended up crying that night!

I said 'there ain't gonna be no vaccine', on the other thread.

I also said I hoped to be wrong.

I thought Tom Daley was camping it up for effect.

On the other hand, I never joined in with, 'You're just a shit Charlie Austin' when Kane came to town, for once I saw something as obviously wrong.

I once bought a tesco value scotch egg - on the grounds that 'what can possibly go wrong with a scotch egg?'

Kane and Vardy would both be flashes in the pan.

Faurlin and Diakite were going to be our Premier League central midfield bedrock for years to come...

Totally agree with you there Paul. Thought it would
revolutionize the game and harbour in a new a fairer future for all.

Only to do the complete opposite.

I honestly believed there would be Euro-creep, and we'd all be using em now.

Well not quite, I didn't think it would improve things at all and said so at the time.

Didn't think it would have quite adverse effect it has had though.

Samba Diakite. Lost a bit of credibility with my mates after raving about this guy. Adel too. Thought there was a payer there that would truly kick on after leaving us and be a regular in the Champions league, what a waste. And wine, used to be a bit indifferent to the stuff, now I’m blowing £200 a month on it. More during lockdown.

£200 a month? Cheapskate.

I was convinced that the British public couldn't be so stupid as to not see through the lies being spouted by the Leave campaign. I still can't in a way.

The grass is always greener.

Going off to the Caribbean for 4 months in the Caribbean early 2014 because I thought there was no way we would get promoted. Missing the play-offs in 2013/14 and that Zamora goal and my friend ringing me from Wembley when he scored.
