That crept up on me. Looks like it might be another three day game. Root and Bairstow could do with an upturn in form.

qprd, any comment on why Bumrah is in and out of the side so much? Is it just an embarrassment of riches, or does he have a recurring injury that needs to be managed? His action is so unusual that, like Wood perhaps, it puts him through exceptional strain?

Outside of the spin bowling where India where leaps and bound better than what England had to offer, the other biggest difference was Sharma and Pant.

Neither of whom I believe will be suited to English conditions. Both of them will be liable to nick outside off with the swinging ball and I doubt either of them will average above 20 in England

I can't see anything that another England series win in England.

He’s very injury prone, and has missed a number of tests due to injury. Makes sense given his very funky and unnatural action. However in the last match, he left the squad for personal reasons, otherwise I think he would’ve played instead of md siraj

India will rest and rotate their seamers in England. In order, I think the best bowlers are bumrah shami sharma siraj...unesh will be in the squad and pandya may come back as an all arounder... even a mediocre bowler like him made the ball talk in England in 2018...

These are very astute observations, I agree

I think pant may struggle but He will still be a wildcard.... even if he nicks off, if he bats for 90 mins he can change a game

Sharma is very vulnerable to any ball that moves and his record out of India is horrendous... having said that I was very impressed W the way he batted against Anderson in the last test... very good defensive technique and he played in a disciplined manner...

Kohli is in terminal decline but I wouldn’t count him out

Rahane also is a good batsman outside of India (2014 lords century was a masterclass), but he is starting to rly annoy me with his pretty 20s and 30s. Gets a start and then throws away his wicket

Agarwal is a very promising player with a few big scores to his name who is being blocked and may deserve a chance if some of the more senior batsman continue underachieving

It’ll be an even series but I fancy England to win 3-1ish

And it's started very well. India 20-3. Also Pant is still unreal.

England making it very difficult, 63/4 from 13, don't often see India scoring so little (early days).

I've just noticed the first test double-century from an Afghan, Hashmatullah Shahidi. 545/4 and forced Zimbabwe to follow on. Great news.

Incredibly good bowling by England today, now for the batsmen to cement the superiority. *fingers crossed.

125 needed. Power play should be interesting.

Roy in the mood, probably has the hump because no-one in the IPL wanted him. Amazing that they are treating Axar like this after the terror he caused in the tests.

Completely different specialist T20 side for England really overwhelmed the Indians in this match. When this team clicks it really is quite frightening to see. That was quite brutally dismissive of the second best T20 in the world at their stadium.

Never knowingly understood

England win by eight wickets so now lead 2-1.

Thank you very much and well played.

I'd like to say we'd just blew it, but fair play to India, they played really well this game with bat and ball. Some lovely bowling in the second 10 overs has really changed the game. Don't rate Kholi as best captain India have had, more blessed by the players currently available to him, but did well today.

No disgrace to lose a T20 series 3-2 in India, for a moment at the start of our innings I thought hang on a minute, but it wasn't to be.
