Guinness Shandy!!! 18:56 - Sep 28 with 7025 viewsWatfordR

46 years of drinking in pubs and that’s the first time I’ve ever seen anyone ask for one!

I’m not sure he’d be allowed in Kilburn!!!

Stop!

Guinness with a whiskey chaser on a cold evening in Ireland is a winner.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Right. My brains gone a bit funny as we didn’t concede tonight. Theses drinks - are they in the Guinness or a chaser?

An Irish mate of mine ordered a Guinness shandy out of morbid curiosity, in some pub in Surrey recently, as it appeared on the pub’s App. He’s pretty picky about his Guinness and he reckoned it was comfortably the worst thing he’d ever tried to drink. Jesus Christ, just thinking about it makes me want to puke. I’ve a photo somewhere.

Many years back I used to go into the Sun in Askew Rd ( long gone ), and some of the West Indian blokes drank Guinness and Lucozade. Never tried it myself.

Guinness and Champagne (Black Velvet) is the only combination allowed.
Gets you very pissed and a hangover to make pray for death.

Strong and stable my arse.

Haven’t tried it but isn’t a Guinness and black (blackcurrant) a drink? Bought some cans of Guinness 0% the other day. Pours like Guinness, looks like Guinness. Holds its head well, and smells like Guinness. But a bit more mellow than the real thing. Drinkable though.

Was really quite funny, bloke whose round it was came up to the bar to order and told the barman

"umm...I'm not really sure how to do this...but...a guinness shandy? Please??"

Guinness and evaporated milk is another West Indian one I've been told. Actually sounds not bad - couple of those with your curry goat.

There was a bar in Newcastle called Sam Jacks that used to call away fans to the stage to down 1 pint of milk, then 1 pint of lemonade followed by a pint of Guinness.
I don’t know how anyone could manage it.

Yes Guinness and black definitely. I used to drink it in my formative years before I discovered Guinness!

Better known as Guinness punch, but I think there are a few spices in there , too.
A glass of Guinness with a dash of black is quite common amongst women in Ireland, certainly Dublin

It was decent enough. Certainly can tell the difference but far from being offensive. And it does pour well.

It's lovely if you enjoy a Guinness but don't want alcohol. Highly recommended

Guinness with a drop of blackcurrant cordial is fine. Normally it's ordered by people who are trying Guinness for the first time, but think it's too bitter. The sugar in the cordial offsets the bitterness to make it more palatable for newbies.

The new Guinness non alcoholic is actually fairly good. Non alcoholic beers will never replicate the taste of the beers they are trying to imitate. But I can see myself ordering this in the future on occasions where I'm driving but would like a beer.

Back in the 80's, Mrs Boston requested I refrain from this combination or our impending nuptials would be in doubt...

Half pint of..

Topped with..

..and yes, I slept well.

BTW...combination introduced into my drinking lexicon by a WW1 Vet who frequented the Green Man, Wembley back in the '70's. We loved the old bugger, danced around the public bar (not there anymore), well into his 90's.
