Defence and keeper obviously pick themsleves

Seny

Laird
Paal
Dickie
Dunne

Field
Johansen

Willock
Chair
Adomah

Roberts

Midfield we don't really have many options unless you want to drop Chair to a deeper role. Have to drop Dykes after Tuesday IMO

We really miss Amos in CM who can get out and press as we do seem to be easy to play against down the middle where you can run onto our defenders

I don't know, it seems to me the essence of the point you made, which was that we were playing games without any of those three starting. I can't remember that happening and it seems you can't either, so maybe it just didn't happen.

Instead of relying on me,I would suggest you go do the Donkey work and look it up yourself if wish to pick holes in my post.

Just read a report via WLN that Richards is fit and ready to make the squad tomorrow.

Any truth in it?!

I'd suggest they've got their TRs mixed up. Tyler Roberts is fit but Taylor Richards isn't due back until after the international break.

Yeh I sympathise because it’s a bloody nightmare for tires journos but I’m sure they’ve got their TRs mixed up there.

I wonder ParkRoyal if you are of Irish descent?

I think Dunne is overrated by a lot of our fan base have at least an Irish grandparent and there seems to be more of an affinity to him based off that.

In a back 4. No argument JCS is a better left sided centre back. And I think it’s pretty clear Dickie is better than Dunne with his ability on the ball swaying it

A back 3 is great getting them 3 on the pitch and likely to be used but I get why based on last half of the season Beale tried a back 4 first

The answer to your question is yes, and you make a fair point, but I've always liked no nonsense centre halves and many a good championship defence even in recent seasons are founded on such players,

I think Dunne's passing is under-rated because he has an ungainly.gait and running style but what I like most about him is he wins the right to win the ball first and then thinks about winning the ball,

Dickie is the complete opposite and his lack of physical presence has already cost us goals this season, also for example, when Blackpool hit the post the other night, he was far too passive and no where near physical enough, similar to Sunderlands 2nd goal, maybe corner at Charlton etc

Dickie and Clarke Slater are both good footballers but I don't like Dickie in a 2 for reasons above and his lack of pace.

Fair play for admitting that and I understand where you’re coming from now. Dunne defo gets an easier ride among a large chunk our fan base on weak clearances etc because of his heritage

I only brought it up in the context that in an earlier post you were questioning our new managers ability even on things like his capacity to get team selection right

I would say it’s a close call which ever side of the Dickie or Dunne debate you fall on. Definitely not one to question the manager on such a base level on

Maybe not, but this team is short on strong characters, vocal players and players prepared to dominate / 'bully' opposition players in the way Dunne did to Troy Deeney away last year.

If you bring in a good ball playing left sided centre half and you already have one on the right and you know you need 2 new full / wing backs, easy solution first season is to go with 3 at the back and what the players know.

Just seem to me a few rookie mistakes by a Manager learning the Championship that say a knowledgeable DoF or experienced Championship Manager like a Wilder or Warnock wouldn't make.

Some coaches are brilliant on the training ground (e.g. McLaren) whereas some are brilliant with game management (eg Warnock with his 3rd Centre-Half on for the last 10) and I've just seen a few calls where you think really not sure about that (e.g. might be down to being a new father but you never bring off Chair as Beale subsequently acknowledged after Sunderland).

I'm fully behind Beale and see the benefit of his transfer model already, e.g. Roberts or Richards have stand-out seasons, you take option to buy at £2.5m or £4m and their value may already be double that price.

I think this has to be our model for next maybe 3 years as cannot see Academy delivering the needed 2 or 3 first team squad players per season.

I'm not going on Saturday but if I were I'd be pretty pissed off to see Johansen sitting on top of the CBs again. I'd still rather have Dozzell as at least he might improve. I suspect he'll give Dykes one more go. Armstrong, off the bench earlier if things not going to plan.
I'd have Chair deep with Field and Dozzell then Willock Roberts and Dykes as front three. Assuming Willock can only last an hour, move Chair forward for last 30 and bring on Johansen. Albert or Armstrong to give Roberts a break.

Our new managers blind faith in Johansen maybe the undoing of him, just saying .
