R's v royals match thread. 22:17 - Oct 6 with 37166 viewsqpr_1968

well, it only seems like a couple of days ago we played, oh hang on......
i started the match thread last season against these, headed, hoops v loops.
i predicted the 4-0 score line as well.
dunne scored in that game, i can feel in me water jimmy will score again friday....if he plays.
2-1 to the r's.

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

Team selection will be interesting with three games in a week.
Reading off to a surprisingly good start.
I've got a horrible feeling it'll be a dreary draw.
A few seasons back I witnessed probably the most boring game ever. A 0-0 draw at home. I think JFH was our manager and both teams were hoping to catch the other team on the counter attack.
Hope I'm wildly wrong.

7-0 to us.

Though I haven't seen them play this season, so we may only win by six.

Agree this is going to be an interesting team.
Willock looks definitely out..... think Seny might be as well..... can Balogun do 3 matches in a week?....... also after Tuesday heroics be a tough ask for Paal and Laird but who else would you put in. Is Armstrong recovered?
Could go a back 5 I suppose with this one.
Love a win but really thi k this maybe a match to far and would settle for a point

When you look our two elder statesmen one has been rested and the other can be replaced by Dickie or JCS. They have a lot of older players who have had no rest. No excuses R's.

We'll win but Jeff Hendrick will definitely score.

As mentioned above, I'm also wondering if Beale will try a formation change for this one; perhaps 352.

Can Beale make it 9 points this week? He might, but all things considered, 1-1 for me and a highly respectable 7 points from three tough fixtures.

It's Friday night, on Sky. Our record is even worse on a Friday. Everyone is on a high after 6 points on the road at 2 difficult places. 3rd game in 6 days. Typical Rangers incoming.

8-0 win and top of the league for a few hours.

Seriously though, Reading are a strange team and their away record isn't great but we are missing the main man Willock.

Luke Amos was great in this game last season and I'm expecting him to do something, either off the bench or from the start.

Heart: 2-1 to the Real Hoops (Amos, Chair)

Head: 1-1 (give away a late pen)

Am in the standing area for first time tonight dreaming of a 3-0 win but head says after both sides 3 games in short space of time boring 0-0 ..would take that but really want 3-0. Chair Amos Dykes.

Any chance that Sinclair Armstrong might be back for this one?

After two long distance away games in less than a week his energy could come in handy as a second half impact sub.

I had him penciled in to return for this match. If not, expect Jaffa Cake Bonne to fill his place on the bench.

Poor old Chair, they’ll be a lot on his shoulders, again.

Hopefully the physio has had time to realign our forwards feet for this one ‘Lads, I’ve angled them so every shot goes in the top corner’.

Failing that, I’ll settle for a point.

When was the last time we won three in a row?

I trust Beale to get this right. Dykes to be the hero, 2 headers. What a pleasure to have so many quality centre backs at our disposal. At the start of the season we didn’t see the need for so many centre backs and midfielders but I’m sure Beale would of looked at how congested the fixtures get and have planned accordingly for this. If only there was a chance to get cover for fullbacks!

I read Dieng has said he wants to play. Don’t know if that means not taking goal kicks but encouraging news.

Don’t forget this will also be Readings third game in a week and not sure how much squad depth they have.

Let’s bring the atmosphere and turn these fake hoops over.

Poll: Preferred rumoured CB

Would love to beat Shelbyville, but I think it's going to be a slow, turgid game.

If we can get a draw that would be a fantastic return from 3 games.

Come on Rangers!

South Africa Rd, Stanley Bowles and Lower Loft all pretty much sold out for this one.

Let's have a goal at our end tonight, shall we?

A goal for us down the Loft end would be marvellous. Preferably a 90th min Dykes bullet header, sealing a 1-0 win.

That is a good shout both Hutchinson and McIntyre are in their early 30s and though their 2 games were both at home this week.... and a 30 min drive down the M4 is not too bad.... they will still be feeling these games
If Armstrong is ready and fit I really would be tempted in playing him tonight, certainly as an impact sub

Gutted about Chrissy's injury but our squad is looking so much better now with options on the bench and great game management by Beale, including using the five subs option very well. We just didn't have that same insight last season.

Ironically, Reading at home was Warburton's peak and it all rather fell apart after that. I reckon lightning will strike twice and Dykes will get back into some (non-Scotland) goalscoring form tonight.

4-1 Rangers and I'm going for 32 minutes in the Joe Lumley sweepstake.

Going fpr 2-0 to the real R's Chair and Dykes to score.

Poll: will a centre forward score for QPR in the remaining games.

Cant see us winning three in a week especially having to do the third on a SkySports Friday minus our best player. Think we'll come unstuck. 0-1 Reading
