FIFA World Cup thread. 12:02 - Nov 15 with 136821 views | Snipper | I’m trying to get excited about this World Cup, but to no avail :-((. I’ve just watched Sky Sports World Cup preview with Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher & Karen Carney. Utterly depressing viewing. Same old, same old. Picking players for the starting XI not playing for their clubs, or totally off form. I’m hoping this thread can get the juices flowing. Do any of you think England have a chance?
FIFA World Cup thread. on 17:35 - Dec 9 with 1574 views | Ranger_Things | Croatia showing again they could be a decent team but they are so fcking negative. For footballs sake I hope they go out but I reckon their keeper will take them though on penalties.

Yes, see my comments earlier. But it would be hilarious if Croatia end this Brazil w@nkfest. Penalties- always somewhat of a lottery.

They’ve taken Brazil to penalties here and were beaten finalists at the last World Cup. For a nation of sub 4m people (less than 2% of Brazil’s population for context), I’d say they’re doing alright! [Post edited 9 Dec 2022 17:41]

He could be the best player in the World if he played like that and stopped fcuking around . If Brazil hold on this game will be the wake up call they need .Looking lethal to be fair |
I don't know what I'm talking about but thought Neymar was terrible. Good goal and all that but well OTT from the Beeb.
FIFA World Cup thread. on 17:53 - Dec 9 with 1414 views | hubble | I'm gutted - for the sake of pure football entertainment, I wanted Brazil to keep going.... pragmatic football has triumphed here, versus sheer artistry... Lots of could have, should haves after they scored, but, and I say this through gritted teeth, fair play to the Croats.

JFC what happened I thought it was over looks like Brazil did not go for the killer second goal and it hurt them. Why was Neymer not taking the first kick he stood there helpless not even shooting

Yep down as the 5th taker apparently.
FIFA World Cup thread. on 17:56 - Dec 9 with 1391 views | traininvain | Enjoyed reading this earlier today and couldn’t help but remember the quote below watching Brazil this afternoon. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/dec/08/jorge-valdano-interview-argenti ‘That would be my fear with Brazil: they’re living happy times, too happy for football, which tends to hide around the corner and stab you when you least expect. So happy even the coach dances.‘
FIFA World Cup thread. on 17:56 - Dec 9 with 1379 views | daveB | Maybe not the real deal after all. Incredible from Croatia what an effort to win that, for such a small country they are punching well above their weight. World Cup wide open now. Christ if England win tomorrow, no dave stop thinking it

FIFA World Cup thread. on 18:06 - Dec 9 with 1295 views | Damo1962 | Well done Croatia. I detest Brazil and Argentina. Hope the Dutch make it an even better day. Oh and Southgate, look at the self- belief of those Croation players, and try and install some of it into England.
FIFA World Cup thread. on 18:15 - Dec 9 with 1266 views | DWQPR | Jumping ahead to tomorrow. The last time England played France in the WC was in June 1982. We won 3-1 and Brian Robson scored after 27 seconds. I was sitting my maths ‘O’ level that afternoon and at the same time clock watching. It got to the stage where if I was going to see kick off (had to get a tube from Ealing Broadway to North Acton and then change for a tube to Greenford), then I had to leave before completing the paper. I was confident at that stage that I would get at least a B but staying I reckon I would be a dead cert for an A. I saw Robson’s goal and two months later when my results came through the post it was confirmed that I had got a B. 😂

FIFA World Cup thread. on 18:17 - Dec 9 with 1258 views | QPRSteve | Every World Cup we are told what a great team Brazil has. in reality they haven't had a great side for decades now. The odd world class player but that's it.

I was about to argue that the 2002 side that beat us was immense, then I realised that was decades ago.
FIFA World Cup thread. on 19:28 - Dec 9 with 1535 views | BlackCrowe | Always loved watching Brazil, but after their pathetic and vomit-inducing dancing after every goal against bloody Korea, i've wanted that team of tw@ts to get their comeuppance. Win with grace and respect or fck off.
