He's like an addict, he knows it will hurt him but he just can't stop himself. At least he admitted it, the first step on the road to recovery.

Don’t care one way or the other about Bamford. He may or may not have told the ref there was no actual touch at the time.

What I suspect is what someone said above. The red card may have been for a high boot with studs up which may have caused serious damage had Bamford not jumped out of the way. Is that a thing now?

If so then we will hear no more about it from the club and hope it is a single game ban

I like Bamford. A lot of reverse snobbery going on with him, but he seems a nice chap to me. And I don't think it was a dive particularly, he took evasive action, but he wasn't looking to get Begovic sent off imo.

Sorry to be boring, but, surely the worry is that the red card was not for bringing down Bamford, but for a tackle deemed to have been dangerous.
On the other hand, I have often thought that goalkeepers should be warned when they come out to catch a ball in the face of an oncoming forward and they thrust out a knee in the direction of the oncoming player. That happens in almost every game and is not penalised.

Isn't every tackle potentially dangerous?

Don't know about that, but I think players like Bamford are morally dangerous. We know he has form for this kind of thing, and if the EFL had any balls/credibility, they'll rescind our red and give the ban to him instead. Hopefully he'll really get taken out one of these days.

It will be now that we have appealed.

I'd like to have said Begovic's rescinded red was never in doubt, but I've little confidence in football authorities these days. Good news nonetheless.

Anyone else every use the word 'rescinded' except in this exact context? A classic football word. A bit like 'adjudged'.

Bare bones.
