This will be the first election that I have no idea who to vote for, will never vote Tory again after the lies during covid where my dad lost his life, don’t trust starmer, would never vote for a bunch of racists like reform , anyone give me a clue?

I think it’s fair to say there were candidates running on a Gaza platform who are extremely well-intentioned people and ran a clean campaign. I disagree with them but respect their right to run. There were others who did it for money and/or kudos and/or ran an extremely dirty campaign in one way or another. Yakoob the most obvious but I’ve seen it on a smaller scale elsewhere. I hope those who won can give their areas effective representation as they’re areas that need a quality MP.

5 Labour candidates were beaten by 5 pro Gaza independents who will outnumber Reform in the HoC!

It's the most disproportionate election ever
Labour: 34% votes = 63% seats
Tory: 24% votes = 18% seats
Reform: 14% votes = <1% seats
Lib Dem: 12% votes = 11% seats
Green: 7% votes = <1% seats
SNP: 2% votes = 1% seats

And it should also be noted that Corbyn won significantly more votes in 2017 than Starmer's New Tory party has done.

That's all very well but increasing your majorities to 30,000+ in seats you're always likely to win doesn't win you elections which is essentially what happened in 2017. There were very few gains from the Tories.

Winning Tory held marginal seats is where Labour usually wins elections.

Out of curiosity why have two seats still not declared? I see one is in North Scotland so thought maybe it was remote and therefore delayed but another is Thurrock.

If Mohammed Hijab and I share anything in common - It's that we both know what the Esox_Lucius post really means.

banthebbc sounds like a bit of a knob - "Jess Phillips imports" - I can guess what that means, but not sure it makes much sense unless Jess Phillips personally sponsored some immigrants to come to the UK and they've now turned on her. Which might have happened, but seems unlikely.

It's difficult enough to attract "good" people into politics, without adding the possibility of physical intimidation to the mix. I think Nigel Farage is an absolute cu nt of a man, but he should be free to campaign without people throwing stuff at him. Jess Phillips should be free to campaign and attend her count without being intimidated, shouted down or threatened. The least surprising thing in the world is that these ar seholes tend to target women more than men.

Dunno about Thurrock, but in the Scottish case, the Returning Officer says there is a discrepancy between the total number of votes cast and the total number counted, so this has to be investigated.

So, who did import all horrible cnts abusing youngsters then? And who covered it up for them? Farage was it?

I fully expect the Reform MP's to all resign once they find out they have to disclose all their financial interests to the house. Or that funding is only given to political parties, not plc's.

The grass is always greener.

Well it's not good when MPs get harassed, but Labour have courted the Islamic vote, admitted to turning a blind eye to abuse in places like Rotherham to not upset the applecart and have spent years calling anyone worried about it a dreadful bigot.

Hard not to have a bit of schadenfreude when the diversity they delighted rubbing our noses in also affects them once in a while when they occasionally have to mix with the great unwashed.
