If it wasn't for the recent injuries then Field would be in contention for me. Nardi is ever present, which from a QPR stand point , is a pretty big deal.
I'd go Dunne.

Has to be Dunne.

Big shame that has to be the case when he is holding out for a move and it will leave a sour taste for that point only, but what can you do?

Nardi - excellent start to the season; great shot stopping, but he is terrifying when balls come into the box and has dropped off a bit this year. Still a great debut season though.

Smyth - have always loved his effort and trickery, but his touch is very poor and his crossing and finishing need work.

JCS / Chair / Dembele / Field / Morrison / Fox / Kolli / Colback - too sick

Varane - since his sending off, he has been great. A couple of poor games in there, but a contender.

Frey - not enough games; effort all the way, a VAST improvement on what has gone before, but still not yet in double figures.

Celar / Madsen / Ashby / Anderson - just not good enough this season - really, really poor.

Paal - atrocious start to the season, playing well within himself. Improved when Chair came back (briefly) and is now playing for a contract elsewhere. Sorry, Esox, NO WAY is he anywhere near PotS - be good to see him out of the door in the summer.

Edwards - not here long enough, but a contender on that limited showing.

Morgan - shoe in for YPotS - fantastic first season. Dropped off a little, but what do you expect?

Saito - another contender; fantastic first season; a bit lightweight; if it weren't for the fact that we have an army of little forward players, he'd be awesome, but the Championship is not suited to teams full of little guys...

Lloyd - utter Chaos. Showed some sign of improvement before his last game where he was utterly atrocious. Fine for now, but unless he improves quickly, this is NOT his level unfortunately.

Yan - mysterious signing if not for the shirt sales - really no better than ANYONE we already have at the moment. I suspect that he will end up like Parejo though...

Going with Nardi, purely based on his early season form when it seemed the rest of the team had abandoned ship. Even then, I'm a little reluctant as he hasn't been great the past couple of weeks, looks vulnerable to the high ball with the opposition crowding him.
But overall, I'd say he has been pretty consistent and definitely an upgrade on Begovic and a successful signing.

I refuse to vote for a player because he tries hard as that should be a given. Yes, I know, we have players that haven't or don't (cough Madsen), but it says so much about where this club is that we are having serious discussions about Dunne and Smyth. It's embarrassing for the fan base that this is what we now think is a 'good' footballer.
Fantastic characters and attitudes you can't fault, but good footballers? No.

If we go by the form of roughly the last year then Dunne is one of the best in his position in the division. If Sheff U want him and he’s getting in an international squad (albeit Ireland) then he’s clearly no mug, defensively or offensively. That right side is rarely exposed in the way the left is when he and Smyth are together.

I’m a Smyth guy but appreciate his weaknesses. Still think we’d miss him if he weren’t here, again defensively and offensively. Would like to know our record with and without him on the pitch but I’d imagine we’re better for him being there even if his stats are less than brilliant.

Are there any serious contenders other than Dunne and Nardi? Dunne for me but maybe a bit of recency bias as Nardi’s form has tailed off. Genuine amazement anyone can suggest Paal.

I think they were pulling our leg about Paal unless its the most disappointing player award he would win that easily IMO.
Nardi is a brilliant shot stopper but has major issues controlling the box which has really hurt us hopefully that can be coached out of/ into him .
Jimmy Dunne is very popular and almost caused LFW to implode when he was being chased by Wilder .
He is QPR through and through right now clear player of the season.
Of course someone could catch fire and score 10 goals yet

Because of consistency of appearance and performance, has to be either Nardi or Dunne. I'd go with Dunne...there's some stat out there that he has more goal attempts than any other Rs player this season. But it's close as Nardi has had a superb debut season with some amazing saves but it's true does not dominate when crosses come in.

Smyth has been great and always makes team more solid and therefore better when he plays. But form bit up and down. Nowhere near POTY.

If he goes to a Sheff U type of club and doubles his money plus a lump sum then that’s just a logical choice to make especially having only been offered one year last summer. I don’t begrudge Jack Robinson making that move even if he’s been a complete cock about it since.
