You’d better check when the pub opens in Claygate :-)
Apparently Claygate gets taken over by Morris dancers every Boxing Day. Pub crawl and live music. I’ll don my Hoops and see if I can get on the local news bulletin. That should p!ss off all the Chelsea fans around here 😃

Jody bloody Morris dancing….hope you have more fun when we play later.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?
What a bizarre day of cricket. Stayed up to watch the first hour then woke up with an hour to play and 14 wickets had fallen. They’ll ruin test cricket if they keep serving up pitches like that.
Had to laugh when I saw the score this morning, went to bed with Oz 6 down for 90 odd, I thought finally England have turned up. At the back of my mind I was thinking, hang on, wait til we bat on this pitch, lo and behold all out for 110, our top 4 contributing a grand total of 8 runs between them. 8 batsmen scoring 5 runs or less, you wouldn’t think that was possible at this level.
well, we bowled at our best and batted at our worst. maybe england just want to get on the beers by day 2 and half again?? crawley never has been good enough imo

Crawley was brought into the team to bat at 3 and did such a good job they moved him to open. Given the failures of Pope and bizarre inclusion of Bethell maybe we should move Crawley back to 3 and find another opener.
I have been highly critical of our batsmen but on this one, I have a degree of sympathy. Apparently this is the 2nd hardest 1st day pitch in 101 tests:
'The overall PitchViz rating of the day's play at the MCG was 8.7 out of 10 (higher number equals more difficult to bat) - making it the second toughest day-one pitch in Australia in the past 101 Tests when there have been 40-plus overs played.'
I have to agree with others that the ground staff are killing test cricket with pitches like this - No fun for any audience in the grand scheme of things.

There are worse places than Melbourne to spend 2 spare days in.But I doubt cricket Australia will be happy about the lost revenue if it finishes in 3 days again.
we had them all over the place, all out 150. we looked great, then collapsed?? a woeful score from us , good pitch bad pitch , this could be over lunch day 3. crazy attitude by us with bat. drunk? hung over? not focused ? this is another woeful ashes tour and i feel for fans who paid a fortune to see this pub team get hammered, in and out of the bar.
This doesnt gloss over the mess of the previous three tests and also this whole game was just constant chaos, but we somehow managed to get across the line and the players and staff have to be commended for that.
Have to carry on in the last test in a similar vein though.
After the Lord Mayor's show but still impressive to get the job done, for sure...

Once again our arrogant approach to team selection picking players that are clearly past their best or out of their depth (Cameron Green) has come back to bite us. We got what we deserved and I’m glad England restored some pride after getting pounded in the press. At least I’ll be able to mention the cricket today while I’m strolling around Surrey 😃
Well done England. Handled the difficult conditions much better than Australia.
Came down to the Aussies batting I think - Just did not handle the conditions and England actually did for a change, The batting for England was much better
The monkey off the back now having won a test. Think next Aussies tour will be completely different with the teams too so it was important

Like you I’m glad they won in Australia for the first time in fifteen years and playing 20/20 style on that lottery of a wicket seemed to do the trick but I just hope that this win in an already lost series doesn’t convince the hierarchy that nothing needs to change and swishing at every ball is the way to succeed in Test Cricket.
Nice to see, and their rotten, bitter media can stick their 5-0 up their collective arses.
If we were going to win one, the boxing day test they all salivate over and are all off work to watch is the one. And in two days as well.
Superb English support in the ground as always.

There weren’t many Aussies in the crowd at the MCG after day 2 in 2017.I appreciate that some had to work, but a lot of them only turn up to see their team winning rather than getting beaten,as they were on that occasion. If only we had a plan to get Steve Smith we would’ve won that game too.
A mate of mine was out there for days 2&3 for this test now.A refund and a day spent drinking beer will have to do for him I guess.

They are extremely good at vanishing when things aren't going their way. I guess that's what happens when your entire self esteem depends on winning at sport
