| Update on the pitch 12:23 - Nov 6 with 50666 views | LeanneConnolly | Please see the below sent to members of the CAB by Jamie Willoughby who has given us permission to share. "My main message is to reassure all fans that this issue has the 100% focus of the Club, the board and the ownership group. There has understandably been much speculation amongst fans about what action should or could be taken at this point. We are looking at all available options. Some of the more extreme options have significant technical, logistical and/or regulatory challenges associated with them (and in some cases all three of these!) but we are not ruling anything out. We are working through all of the possibilities with the various 3rd parties involved to assess feasibility. If we consider that any of the options are feasible / deliverable and will materially improve our position, we have the support of the majority ownership group to proceed with them. In the meantime, we continue to carry out remedial work to the pitch and manage the current situation as best we can" [Post edited 6 Nov 12:26]

| Update on the pitch on 23:00 - Nov 12 by nordenblue | Didn't we get told covering the pitch wasn't the main issue the problem is the water has nowhere to drain too once it runs off the pitch anyway, not sure how this cures the issue as the same amount of water that falls still wont be able to drain away from around the pitch anyway |
Have the club said this or are you just going off what some message board experts have said? Maybe its the pitch drains that aren't working and these sheets will direct the water away from the pitch and to the edge where they have a chance of draining away? Who knows - guess we'll find out Saturday.

| Update on the pitch on 09:37 - Nov 14 with 5433 views | Dale_4_Life | A Friday update would be great... We are a Nosy bunch So far so good? Water pitch side perimeter draining away (Somewhere?). Have the club any drainage expert connections? Can a new super drain be installed pitchside to take away the copious amount of water?. | | | |

| Update on the pitch on 09:52 - Nov 14 by TalkingSutty | If the cover works today and the game goes ahead then it's clearly a viable solution to getting games on. Today's weather is the perfect workout for the durability of the cover. If the water somehow is soaked up from surrounding areas and presents itself on the surface of the pitch then it's time to accept defeat and play games elsewhere because even covering the pitch wont protect it anymore. Fingers crossed the cover works well. [Post edited 14 Nov 9:53]

| Update on the pitch on 11:48 - Nov 14 with 4962 views | D_Alien | Should this prove to work under these conditions, and become a viable solution throughout the rest of the season, we really can't thank the owners enough for funding all this Bringing in the Macleod staff to manage the covering/removal process will itself be costly but probably a requirement and i'm going to suggest to the Trust that they formally recognise this with a statement on behalf of the fanbase Perhaps that's something the Trust might actually listen to | |

Are the Trust able to help with installation costs as a sweetner?

Doubtful, at the rate they've been losing members recently

| Update on the pitch on 18:54 - Nov 14 with 4105 views | MAK | Current weather conditions are fairly exceptional and it's wild out there, as I'm sure most Rochdale based folk on here would agree. Without covers, or using the recent covers, tomorrow's game would not be going ahead. If the match plays tomorrow as planned, then enormous credit to the club for sorting the new cover arrangements out. I'm sure its neither easy nor low cost to sort out. There'll probably be plenty of other games that don't go ahead due to waterlogged pitches. | | | |

I'm in Wardle and the wind/rain has been unbelievable today and judging by a few large crashing sounds a couple of roofs may be in trouble!!. If the game is on then clearly we have found a potential solution if money can be found in the future, because they won't get many tests like the last 24 hours. Fingers crossed

It is wild out there. Lorries queueing at Milnrow on M62 due to winds on M62 at Rakewood. Queensway flooded both sides ... barely passable. It would be a shame if the pitch is okay but the area around the ground isn't. No idea where Aldershot are staying but they are not at the Norton Grange.

| Update on the pitch on 14:38 - Nov 15 with 2148 views | 442Dale | Now we’ve got today on, we have a defined route forward. If the new covers have worked in the most extreme of weather, there’s no reason for there to be doubt about future home games. Of course, this will require significant investment so it’s a decision around a season-long hire agreement or looking at getting them in for individual games and working out what’s best. The possibility of a genuine chance of promotion falling short due to a fixture backlog also needs to be factored into the cost of hiring suitable pitch protection, first things first though massive respect getting todays game on as the rains been absolutely biblical | | | |
| Update on the pitch on 18:56 - Nov 15 with 1654 views | mikehunt | Jim was interviewed on Radio Noblot this evening. It was nice to hear him have a few words with Keef. A little teaser from him regarding the pitch, though, wbere he said he expected the pitch to be permanently sorted in a couple of weeks if they can muster everything and "get the backing from the League". If I heard correctly.. Was around about half five if any one has the ability to replay the interview. | |

Agree, those covers are obviously the real deal and they work well. The amount of rain has been biblical but it doesn't seem to have come up through the surface of the pitch and the surrounds weren't flooded. I suppose the problem now would be what happens to the pitch if it rains once the covers are removed and during the lead up to kick off and the match itself. The covers had been removed by 10am this morning.
