Another Olafur Arnaulds fan here. His latest work, A Dawning, with Talos (the late Eoin French) is extraordinary.
Saw him at Hammersmith a few years ago and at one ppoint the silence in the room was so sharp you could hear the buses outside between the notes. Amazing.
People always look at me a bit confused when I say snuff are the best band ever to come from London, as they usually haven't heard of them. Ironic as my favourite song of theirs is called 'who'.

Only a couple of songs but Kajagoogoo. But only when Limahl left. And mainly because Nick Beggs is a bad motherfker on that bass.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Supertramp would be one of mine. The musicianship, dynamics and tension in this piece are superb, in my humble opinion. Some strong guitar parts too.
I've never seen one musician hand a musical note over to another but that happens here, when Hodgson switches from keyboard to electric guitar and Helliwell takes over on the keyboard, the relevant key remaining held down during the changeover. Gosh!
I was going put them too. Some of it is fkin naff but when it clicks, what a great band.
Righr, Right I'm bloody well right..

Half Man Half Biscuit are national treasures. Never apologise. Every one else is wrong
I’m not especially familiar with Half Man Half Biscuit’s oeuvre but love the story about their early days when, having been invited to perform live on a BBC music programme (broadcast to the entire nation), declined because it was a Friday night and Tranmere Rovers were at home.

Sorry if this brings the level down a notch or two, and there possibly could be alternative reasons for my choice beyond musical talent, but always bring out a smile with Britney.
And she has had hard times with her mental health and problematic family relationships too, but the ultimate pop sensation for me.
Sorry ladies and gentlemen, perhaps i am a tiny bit shallow, but i like shallow myself !!!

...especially when she performs those heavily mascaraed, wide eyed psychotic dances.

Are you familiar with this great song featuring Nick Beggs? Very soulful, very catchy 👌
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Greatest pop bass track ever, too shy.
Greatest pop bass tracks, eh? Off the top of my head I would add A Taste of Honey’s ‘Boogie Oogie Oogie’ to that list (depends how we’re defining ‘pop’ of course).
