I'm guessing because of the squad now and all being fit he will have to patient and wait for his opportunity which is a good thing. Also great we don't have to rush him back and that Hamstring can keep having a good rest until it's needed.

This. He's being eased through training as we have a lot of options at the moment. Pointless rushing him back in at the moment.

Never knowingly right.

Exactly, he'll play when he's ready!

Or...he's not fit.

I'll put it out here now....

If the club get more than a dozen 90 minutes out of this fella this season I'll be shocked.

If he manages more than 50 full appearances across his Contract then likewise I'll be shocked.

Good company for JCS though. Which is nice.

If you bothered to check he’s made 222 appearances over the last 6 seasons: an average of 37 appearances a season.
Hardly another JCS.

I was ever present.

Then I got injured.

You wouldn't get 12 minutes out of me let alone 12 games.

How did he get on LAST season?
How is he doing THIS season?

Absolutely no doubt that the lad has ability in buckets...... no point having a top end motor that's always up on the ramps in the garage.
It's of little matter to me at the moment as plenty of cover in that area, I just think it will end up being an odd spend of £££££

Competing with JCS too

Same people digging out the club for playing it safe, the very same ones who will be critical if he was rushed back

Cant scapegoat a player that's not playing ;-)

Aparently I'm an expert.

Mate I tend to agree with most of your posts

But on JCS (and likely Poku too) I think you're wrong. And hopefully to the benefit of the club this will be the case. This club usually makes the same mistakes over and over as we both know, so its refreshing to see that this time we may have learnt and not rushing players back.

The view I have is that when they come back fully fit they are a) like a new signing and b) start pushing other players for their spot

It was actually one of the big plus points when we signed him - EFL durability, always available. Bloody typical it's gone as it has.

Agree with the posts above, I like we're not rushing players back. I think it's caused us all manner of problems in preceding years, particularly in the case of Chris Willock where it basically killed his whole career. I'd rather he be out for 6 months and then available for three years, than play next week and go the way Willock did.

The failing is so often the people skills and how we speak as a club to our fans. Poku very clearly, very obviously blew his hamstring out in the first game. Everybody who was there could see it, and everybody knows that is a 3 month minimum absence and not an injury to mess about with. Just say that. Say we're handling it with kid gloves, might be Christmas, might be the New Year, we want to get it right. Instead they've repeatedly done the opposite and said he's available and it's all fine.

The worry is, and I'm not a medical expert, he missed a chunk of last season having surgery on that same hamstring. Don't these things keep happening? If so, all the time in the world he needs to recover is the best thing, and that is until it happens again
