Question now is how do they react to today? Do they sulk and feel sorry for themselves and end up lower mid table? Show them all the footage of Wrexham celebrating like crazy. Show some backbone and react and go on a winning run. Always darkest before the dawn….

Well, JS has got his excuses in a week early this time by telling us how the players will find it 'very difficult' v Coventry, so that's perhaps where it starts. You create your own future.

Poll: A little over halfway through the season, where do you see us finishing?

My guess would be we play reasonably well for 45 minutes but don’t score, come out for the second half sluggishly and concede within the first ten minutes then after a very brief response the team is too knackered to do anything but cling on because we’re the most unfit team in the league.

I can't see anything but a comprehensive defeat. The way we lost that match says everything to me about the mentality of this team unfortunately.

At the end we had Cook, Field, Hayden and Dunne on the pitch. Four older and more experienced players.

What surprised me is why one of them didn't tell Walsh to sit down feigning injury when Mbengue was red carded.
Get a 2 minute break and sort out who would deal with what.

89th minute corner to us. Why didn't we take it into the corner despite Hayden going over to Madsen to discuss.

Just brain dead.

Just a lack of game smarts from the older and more experienced players.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

Can’t really blame them trying to score. Killing 10 seconds holding it in the corner with that long to go would’ve been silly and we nearly scored and ended it there.

The lack of organisation especially with those players on the pitch once the red had been awarded was dismal. Still think a team with competent fitness at worst avoids defeat.

After many seasons of supporting it'll go like this. Plucky loss to Coventry, points picked up here and there. Players on the beach early March, season ticket renewals early April.
All the promises about how next season will be the "ONE" and we've learnt a lot.
Late kit release early August.
More development squad signings that never develop.
First game away plucky defeat. Players finding their feet, need to be fitter.
First round league cup defeat to MK Dons.
An early season good home win to perk us all up and the injuries and loss of form by Xmas.
Rinse and repeat.

We have a week, and for the next two months we have hardly any midweek games.

I think we need to keep working on the tactics and shape used in that first half, so we can use them for two halves.
And we need to work hard, damn hard, on our fitness so we can compete for two halves.

And if anyone in the building says that our fitness is ok, they need to be removed from the decision-making process immediately.

Get those two areas right - and there is no reason why we can't - and we can challenge for the play-offs.

Lastly, we need to take microphones away from anyone at the club who mentions tiredness, fatigue, travel, three-game weeks, opponents, budgets or weather. Let's talk like we want this. Let's talk like we live for this. Let's talk like we're serious about this.

Let's treat ourselves with respect.

I'd like to say I'm sorry but...........

In all my years of working I turned up ready to work, on a few occasions I worked all day on site and Instead of going home I worked with my Brother In law right through that night shuttering and reinforcing a staircase the coming weekend we concreted the staircase and over the next few days we worked late Into the night striking the bloody staircase, all the time carrying out my work during the day as a site Manager, no It's not a big deal on my part but I'm gonna take some convincing that Eleven so called f king professional footballers are not fit and ready for action.

If we are putting players on the pitch who are not 100% fit and ready to go then someone needs their arse kicking into shape.

I never could understand or take on board professional footballers not being fit on matchday.

There'll be a million excuses but none of them will convince me.

Get fit or f ck off.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

The question is, and has been all season, why is our squad in this physical condition?

Don't forget sacking off the first few games because the transfer window is still open.

Post of the weekend!

Only problem is, we apply your principles, it's a taxi for the manager and most of the staff, plus a bundle of people on here.

At the risk of coming over all Gary Neville, it starts with the owners and the standards they demand (or don't demand).

I’ll put it out there, because we have a cycling fella overseeing the players’ conditioning. 3 seasons of slow starts. Two years in a row now of January injury crises.

We’ve hired another physio, which suggests the club think the issue is execution rather than the overarching strategy. That, or Bicycle Ben has sold the story that he doesn’t have enough bodies in his Performance department.

Btw, genuinely, I believe the groundsmen (at Heston and LR) report to him too. All part of this idea of maximising our performance, in this case by matching playing surfaces…
