Well, if Nazi sympathisers from Oswald Mosley on hadn't put so much effort into polluting English patriotism it could be very different. But it's not, so for varying reasons a significant percentage of people feel uncomfortable with the English flag. I don't gaf myself, I don't have a religion and I don't support the monachy so it doesn't represent me. But at the same time a lot of people who aren't on the far right are fine with waving the English flag about at sporting and national events so let's not pretend they don't exist. Dickheads funded by Stephen Yaxley-Lennon's American sugar daddies who go around festooning lamposts with flags, that's something different.

Well, no, I was chuffed they didn't succeed in getting the words changed although didn't the Beeb want to drop the song from last night at the proms ? My niece quit her job as a teacher and moved to the USA, because of âselective history teachingâ in schools. My only point is, you can't brush things under the carpet.

This is it. There is an undercurrent/social engineering to make the English think there are 1/ no such thing as the England 2/ That celebrating a great cultural is wrong 3/ To reshape the achievements of this country to inhibit any cultural pride (especially in the young) social engineering

Onward !!!! Are you mental that happened almost a 100 yesrs ago and the country then went on to fight and win probably one of the only real necessary wars on recent history. There are stupid peole on the left (rent a mob) as well who wave banners around. Its shi te like linking the black shirts of the 1930s with a culture of anti English on 2026 that annoy a lot of people. For someone who doesn't do flags. Religion. Pride in your country. Cultural pride (which i get ) you seem very one sided in your thoughts

Perhaps if your country was occupied and oppressed for hundreds of years, and its people allowed to starve by the occupiers, you might hold a few "historical grudges" too.
When I was a kid, half the UK entertainment industry seemed to make a living out of calling the Irish thick.

This type of cancel culture prevents honest conversations from taking place and is actually counter-productive and breeds resentment. Had honest conversations never taken place, there would be no Good Friday agreement.

We'd be better off with St Andrew, the patron saint of fishmongers & fishermen. I oft visit St Andrews church next to Fuller's brewery, so two birds with one stone. Loads of interesting stuff in the church about old Chiswick village.
