You may be right., but teams will target a dodgy left or right back resulting in a total loss of confidence and /or relegation. Might work if we played a back 3 but we don't. |
We’ve actually seen it quite often when he starts, they absolutely target him, especially when he played with Saito who doesn’t cover this season and has been prone to give the ball away in dangerous areas. We didn’t really see enough of Larkeche before his injury to tell but I’m worried the jump from Scottish football might be too high.
RND has been the most solid LB we’ve had defensively for years, much better than Paal who almost invariably got beaten for the opponent to get a cross in. Problem is his wages and he does very little attacking wise in terms of creating chances, even though he’s involved in getting us up the pitch. I’d take him if he had a drop in wages but I think he’s probably on £30k which would be swapping JCS for another potential crock on a big salary. He’s played a lot this season, weirdly given our terrible injury situation, but so did JCS a couple of seasons ago.
I’m not sure why we find it so hard to get FBs but it’s been an enduring issue - we’ve had some stinkers! Weeping a bit to see the trajectory of Ryan Manning. But even Ethan Laird probably on a hefty wedge doesn’t start every week. |  | | |

Wikipedia makes it five times he hasn’t played the whole game. His appearance record is the fifth best in the squad despite not being here for the first three games and not being able to play against his home club.

I think he's been decent enough but I wouldn't sign him permanently. However, I find it a bit odd that it seems so difficult for us to scout full backs. Strikers I get, they're going to be more expensive and in demand...but full backs? Are there really no decent full backs in League One or in some of the minor European leagues? It seems to have been an issue for a while. | | | |

Think he's done well in a team that can be questionable at times and has been by no means our worst loanee ever.
The old chestnuts of wages and injuries will probably steer our attentions elsewhere, but if Cook is going then the squad as it currently stands, will lack that gnarly experience you need.
I suspect he'll return north but he's not let us down, which is more than we can say for many others we've brought in. |  |

Whilst we have to try and develop our players, we can't expose them to too much risk of being overwhelmed and we have to field a competitive team. Esquerdinha has already had a few dodgy games. He's nowhere near ready to start the majority of games. I think he could do with minutes in front of RND as a left sided midfielder/winger. | | | |

Baz we may be feeling safe now but before Saturday, we didn't know where the next point was coming from. We were sinking towards the drop zone.
We are already losing nearly £2 million a month, how does relegation affect that?

How do the dozen teams that go through it every year survive? We're not an exceptional case.
It's a equal disaster for anyone who gets relegated. The fear of relegation doesn't justify the erosion of the youth policy for me. [Post edited 20 Mar 10:53]
