How did we not win that? Kone was excellent today - covered so much ground and really led the line well. Poku looked very good when he came on too. If he can get more games next year, he will definitely add something to the team.

We didn't win because we did not finish, we had enough chances across several players to win it comfortably.
Today, Kone had his best game for Rangers, proper decent performance and held the ball well, passed it well & showed up well. His control of the football was far better than he has done since joining us. I am very pleased for him. [Post edited 6 Apr 20:17]

There is a proper Championship centre forward there, Gazza. He is not the finished article yet, and his lack of pace may stop him reaching the Prem, but he could become a highly effective Championship centre forward that gets a side promoted, IMO. Remember he is only 22 and it is first season at this level. |  | | |

Just got back today too.
I don’t think that there was a player today that played badly. There were an amusingly bad
moment from Mbengue when he somehow managed the kick the ball off his own face for a throw-in, but he overall played well.
Had the chances, but lacked the luck. On another day Smyth’s shot goes in off the post. But we created a lot and it was good to see. Kone yet again ran for everything. Oh, and the corners as usual were the usual.
Preston seemed very nice, also there was one man who gave us directions and started making anti-immigration comments, who I told to - very kindly - be quiet about. | | | |

Now I’ve seen the highlights, I agree. My son said on way back that Walsh had been getting stick for goal on social media. For me, everyone expected Morgan to get the ball and it left us badly exposed and Preston worked it well to set up the chance. | | | |

Poor footwork and weight balance meant a shot without a lot of power and not in the corner goes in fairly comfortably. I don't want a pile on for a young keeper at the end of a finished season, but these last few games should serve to hammer home.what most of us have been saying for a while.... We need a new goalkeeper |  |

They passed that through us all too easily but the shot was into the middle of our goal without any great power in it. Walsh looked like he was positioned too close to his near post and too slow to react. I think Nardi and many good Championship Keepers would of saved that, or at least got a hand or foot to it. | | | |

I like him mate, he was proper decent at PNE. I like him as a player, he 'wants it' and because his attitude & application is 100% plus I support him all the way. Agreed, he has chances of being a big asset for us. Hopefully his performance at PNE will give him much confidence. | | | |

I’m not sure about Nardi saving it, his percentage save stats are near the bottom of the Championship this season and weren’t great last season.
But the main point is solid, Walsh is not a good enough keeper at this level. Unfortunately his stats show that he has one of the worst performances for preventing goals. In fact he has a negative score of -9 which means he has let in that many more goals than he should have, as opposed to preventing goals that you wouldn’t expect him to where he would’ve got a positive score. The next nearest goalkeeper has a -5 level. Now of course stats aren’t everything and he has commanded the area better than Nardi IMO and cut out more crosses and runs into the box BUT you can’t have a goalie that’s letting in that many soft goals. I do think it could be that he just hasn’t played enough competitive senior level football and a season of EFL football in Division 1 or 2 would’ve done him the world of good.
Nevertheless we can’t have a goalie that’s letting in up to nine soft goals across a season, that’s got to amount to a couple of extra wins at least.
Not having a go at him as I think he tries his best and sometimes does the difficult things, like double saves or one on ones really well, but I don’t think he can be our number 1 goalie next season and would benefit from a loan. |  | | |
