Am guessing Spurs fans consider him to be as half decent also.

I feel like Nedum is my specialist subject. An absolute specimen of a man, built like a heavyweight boxer, or 200m Olympian. Intelligence to boot, he had the lot!
Which is why his performances were so underwhelming for me.
This guy could have been at the very top, but I found him to be very average. Even when we were in the Championship and he would have been one of our top earners on a Premier League wage he failed to stand out as our best player.
He's a lovely bloke and hugely articulate, but if he can't understand why the club only offered him a short contract on reduced wages then maybe he's not as clever as I thought.
Like a lot of players that have left QPR didn't Nedum take that massive drop in wages anyway and end up in Canada? Surely if he was as good as he thought he was then the market would have dictated that a top Championship club would come in and make him their captain etc...
The only sympathy I have for Nedum is that he had to share a dressing room with the weapon that is Joey Barton for a chunk of his career with us, and I'm sure anyone who survived that deserved some kind of medal

He is obviously an erudite and thoughtful bloke which together with those silky-smooth tones and good looks is always going to get him pundit work.
He also has that Man. City connection which all the broadcasters want.

In his defence the club was an absolute basket case during his time there. He's not quite at MacBonne levels, where its the clubs fault for paying him too much and ruining his career!
But still, you don't really hear Clint Hill moaning too much even though he would have had similar experiences (at the end of his career as well).
But I guess the difference is, as you alluded to, Man City was the pinnacle of Nedums playing career, so we were always a step down for him.
I wonder if he still has the same attitude now though, and wonders why Carra and Nev are out earning him as a pundit? --Don't want to bash Nedum, I thought he was good as well, just not excellent, like I thought he could/should be
Similar reasons to RND last season, yeah he can turn in a 7/10 performance, but that is his maximum.

Although unfair to say he couldn't get the best out of Taraabt, as I think that club of managers that could handle Adel is very small indeed.

I think he lacked desire or perhaps grit, if you like. It's that extra few percent that effective players have. In our current squad, Paul Smyth. Not the most talented, but maximises the talent he has by wanting to win and hating to lose. He hasn't been discouraged by not always being an automatic starter and there he was on Saturday, heading home in a meaningless friendly. And I don't think it's coachable, it's innate.

Clint Hill doesn’t moan about us but then he is a big fan of Joey Barton so that might explain it. I’m pretty sure if there was a huge rift in the dressing room as seemed pretty obvious at the time, Hill would’ve been on the Barton side of the rift and Nedum would’ve been on the other side. I think that alone is enough to make you less than thrilled about going into work.
I agree though that Nedum was a generally low key character that maybe would need to be galvanised by the right sort of manager and teammates to play at his best. Whereas as been said someone like Paul Smyth just naturally loves to win and is a natural scrapper.
Redknapp was a terrible manager who stole a living at several clubs. He had some success by spending huge amounts of his owners’ money. But because of how he spent on ageing players almost past their prime there was never a legacy. He knew how to play the system and it was sad that the fans saw through him long before the naive Board did. I cringe every time he’s on TV playing his lovable man of the people, good down the pub schtick.
