Thanks Clive. He’s not the box to box we so so desperately need. And probably two of them. The analysis, as you say, is that he is a slightly better Hayden-type of player. I am so bored of seeing midfielders who cannot turn on the ball and create.
But I’ll give him a chance to prove me wrong.

Not quite the CM profile I think we really need, and doesn't seem to be especially good at anything particular, but I like that we've brought in some experience and it's definitely a midfield that needs central / number 6 type depth, something that will be even more important if we move on Varane, or Madsen misses time.
My presumption is that the Fiorentina set up is the system we will start with, which means 433/4123 with someone at the base of the midfield to receive and give quickly to more offensive players ahead - specifically in that system - the 2 number 10s like Chair and Vale. In that scenario, and as part of a squad capable of playing 50 games in a hard season rather than a player that's crucial and needs to play every week, I think it's a solid signing. Fairly boring, but teams beed boring too! |  |

Pleased with this pick up. As mentioned in the piece, it brings some much needed experience and, on paper at least, is an upgrade on Hayden (assuming that's the role he's here to play).
Overall, a good window.
We spent a lot last season, and went early in January with a punchy outlay on RE, so I'd expected a summer of reined in spending.
I imagine we'll keep our power dry to see how the early season pans out and whether there are favourable deals towards the end of the window. |  | | |

A Leeds loon I know texted me to say that he couldn't believe we were signing Kamara, "he should be in a promotion team".
Annoying, but I think Clive's passing Shaun Derry comparison is apposite and, like Derry, Kamara is a better, more integral team player than we may imagine.
I'm not sure we're going to get that from clips or stats, with respect to Zac, whose analysis is excellent - players like these are eye tests.
Is he fit enough? Has he got the edge he had at Leeds and Rangers? If yes to both those, this is a very good signing and an upgrade. Like Derry, if he's in the right mix of midfield, he's too good for the Champ (but not good enough for PL).
Someone challenging Varane, someone who's 10% better at the same business than Varane, more experienced could allow Madsen, Chair or Vale to flourish in a three. Please let's play a 4231 or 433 this season. | | | |

46 in the league, and two cup games would make our standard, 48 game season. By my calculations, you think we're either going to win two cup games (let me just repeat that: win two cup games! And in the same season!!) or, have two games in the POs!
