I think Kone definitely could have a great season. Got a feeling everyone is going to be impressed by Pierce Charles and especially his distribution abilities. I think Madsen will continue to improve and I think a new player coming through will be Isak Alemayhu (probably spelt wrong).
For some odd reason, I think we could see a much improved Varane this season. His performance in the friendly against Fiorentina was very encouraging, so much more forward movement.
But for me this season's top man - and hopefully he has an injury free season - will be Ilias Chair. He said when Stephan came in, he was learning a lot of new ideas from him and was very impressed and also some of the friendlies - appreciate they are friendlies - but didnt once hang onto the ball too long and linked up great with the midfield and the attack.

If he stays fit, Charles is going to be busy and get lots of practice.
I also want to see Paul Smyth doing well. His attitude and application are amazing and I think he is under-used.

Chair hasn’t really had the opportunity to play with a proper no. 9 who is a threat in the box. Kone hasn’t yet had the opportunity to play with an attacking midfielder of Chair’s technique and calibre.
I’m hoping a fully fit Ilias will relish supplying the goals for Kone.
Honourable mention to Harvey Vale, who I can see having a big season too.
Burrell is the one I’m a little worried might not have quite the season he had last year.
Can see Madsen being a bit more of a known entity in the league too this year, which could dampen his impact a little.

I know he's done nothing, been injured since he got here, and it was only one half of a PSF, for which he didn't push on from in the next game, but Poku's performance in the second half against Fiorentina showed us what he had that attracted us. Thought he looked a right handful. Confidence and health is what he needs.
Isak clearly has some zip about him and if he gets minutes and takes his opportunity, he could be the breakout star. |  |

Also got my doubts about Burrell this time round. An awful lot of his chances, which he excellently converted, were down to Kone being a thorough pain in the arse behind him.
I suspect Kone will want that no 9 spot this season.

As said above, I think Chair too. He’s looked good in the pre season games back in UK. And he looks hungry and fit. Hes missed huge chunks of last 2 seasons, when before that he was our best and most important attacking player. He brings experience too. The squad has improved since he last had major impact on a season, so if he can stay fit and firing, I think we could make playoffs. I’d actually say that without him, I don’t think we can. | | | |

Madsen could be found out more this season but then on the other hand if we have a fit Poku, a more experienced Vale, a contribution from Chair and Lamptey we may have the creativity spread out more around the team whereas Madsen held a lot of the responsibility last season.
It COULD mean we’d be harder to shut down as there could be more players other teams would have to stifle. Obviously this is all based on a unicorn season where we don’t have injuries to all these players. | | | |
