I’m slightly addicted to parkrun, did my 99th today and next week travelling down from Malton to Bushey Park, the spiritual home to get my century.
Followed by a trip to the other spiritual home for the Bolton game.
Is anyone else obsessed? Any interesting locations/achievements?

Parkrun is a great thing, brilliant for physical and mental health, so good for you. I was a Peckham Rye Park regular until a few years ago when my left knee decided that my running days were over!
It’s more sedate activities for me these days (whacking balls back and forth over nets mainly) and swimming (our 60+ ‘silver’ session at the local pool isn’t a pretty sight, mind!)
Anyway, keep it up for as long as you can, Mikey. Hope you get a ‘PB’ on the 100th! |  | | |

I think I did around 120 of them. I'm always busy on Saturday mornings now with family stuff and I didn't like that my knees started sounding like maracas.
My running was bullshit though. My PB was 29 minutes and I felt like I was running from hungry wolves to get that time. I'm not any sort of runner. That said, my first Park Run was my first ever proper run. I did no training and got around without stopping or walking. So that was good. It just turns out that I've got the pace of Danny Dichio. |  |

My family are all parkrun obsessives (as well as QPR) and a Saturday for us was always started at Bushy (our local course) followed by a trip to Loftus Road. Think I'm on 300 odd now (having slowed down a lot due to kids) but totally agree with you how addictive it is. I even did one on my wedding day!
One of the great things about it is that almost everywhere has one now, so whenever you're visiting friends/family or staying somewhere away from home, there's always one to do. I am probably on 20+ locations but never done one abroad, so thats the next one for my bucket list. | | | |

I did one in Scotland that was brutal. Basically a trail run. That one really stands out. It was near Glasgow. If I can ever find my old number I'll look it up. | |

I did loads years ago but only go occasionally now. Done a few overseas - Ireland, Austria, Sweden. Always fun to see different courses and the differences in experience between the really massive famous ones and dinky little events kept going by one or two volunteers. | | | |

This will be my 32nd location, I’m a bit of a tourist! It’s good to see so many of you still do it used to do it. I volunteered at my local one, Dalby Forest and that was fun too. I cant quite comprehend what it’s going to be like with 1200+ runners, but more for the experience than the time.
Very oddly, at 45, I’m faster now than I’ve ever been, in all distances up to 10k. Very odd. | | | |

Yesterday was my 90th, so looking forward to getting my century later this year. It's a wonderful way to start the day and means that I don't feel guilty slobbing out on the sofa later in the day. I've done a few in Cornwall which are all really tough with big hills, but enjoy my local Parkrun at Rushmoor in Aldershot. Got my PB there last year, 26:36 but can't get near that this year |  |

The stampede at the start of Bushy is exhilarating!
It's consistency that builds pace, keep blasting around a 5k once a week, get some easier miles in during the week and the body gets adapted.
I'm 63 now and so the age grade is something that inspires me, a full on effort every now and then and I can sneak over 70%, which always pleases me. | | | |

I am on 317 at 42 different locations... My nearby neighbour in Stanley Bowles stand is ahead of me .. I am totally addicted. The effort I have to put in every week to keep my tims to just over 30 at my ripe age is, I think, a very important health enefit. I sweat,am shattered, but recover within a couple of minutes and go off oo play tennis or watch the Rs - fellow Rs, take it up and you will find enormous health benefits. | | | |

I did my 365th run yesterday, doing a new one that's just started in South Leicestershire which is my 34th location. I've done Parkruns in the US and Canada (minus 12 when I ran the Canadian one in November 2019, but because Canada is a proper country the paths were completely clear of snow and ice), as well as one in Scotland at Holyrood (horrendous first mile, brilliant third mile).
For anyone posting on this who is a parkrunner, come join QPR Runners on Facebook and/or Strava if you haven't already. We even have our own kit you can buy, a home blue & white hooped version or away red & black hooped. I'm not on Strava and I don't post / view Facebook anywhere near as much anymore but I try to keep in touch with it when I can. Met a few folk from it over the years.
I like to come down to do Scrubs when we have lunchtime kickoffs, travelling from the East Mids its the only real way I'd get to do a parkrun still on a Saturday with an early home fixture. Watford in December this year for me which will be interesting as I've never ran the Scrubs in winter, I'm led to believe it can be quite the mudfest! |  | | |

Did half marathons and competitor races in my late teens and early twenties.
Knocked it on the head when I moved here in the mid eighties.
Better things to be doing . Pints to be drank , fags to be smoked and women to be chased .
Haven’t smoked for thirty years , still have the odd pint .
Our Collie cross keeps me fit with two to three walks a day .

I've probably done 200 or so - lost count.
If anyone wants a challenge, try Amersham (Church Mead) Old Town (Bucks) parkrun. Sounds gentle, quaint and easy but is anything but - a monster hill for half the course - and its twice round! (Not) Fun on a warm Sat morning. [Post edited 17 Aug 9:18]

I'm just back from doing a circuit of Gunnersbury Park which is about my limit when it comes to running. They have a very popular parkrun there on a Saturday morning. I don't really see the appeal of running with lots of other people so always avoid it. |  | | |

Gunnersbury is a busy one.
I do all my training on my own, one of the many reasons I like running, it gets me away from everything, so know what you mean. I especially enjoy the low-key parkruns, preferably with less than 100 participants, Southall being my current favourite of that type. | | | |
