Like many others on here I have had my doubts over Illias the past few seasons.
I was still unsure about Julien going in to this season.
Both were immense today.
I was pleased that we subbed Poku early and then Burrell. Excellent player management. |  | | |

You were probably one of the geniuses that voted Paddy Kenny PotS ahead of Adel that year.
Illy didn't even have a great day today, but came upnwith the goods as per. Still think QPR fans do not deserve him. Before the equaliser, he had a chance to send a ball in where Burrell was in the area surrounded by three Pompey defenders, so looked up and checked.
The groans around us were audible, but his was the right decision as it generally is.

In the best possible way, you've never seen two less Chair-like goals.
Was always a little bit frustrated seeing him out on the left, of course he's good out there for a ball into the back stick or the classic cut in and shoot from distance, but starting today as more of a second striker off Burrell he picks up two scrappy goals from about six yards out combined.
Strikes me now that we have three (four) wide men competing for the RW spot with Poku, Smyth (Vale?) and Dembele when he's back fit but only really Saito (and Chair) on the left. [Post edited 15 Aug 20:01]

Yes he scored two goals but less see how he goes. I think he needs to be quicker with his passing. There was a time where he was our main man and match winner but with the quality of the squad now, he doesn't have to try and do it all himself. There will also be games where he might not be suited. Some of his best play was when he got the ball and quickly moved it on. One great ball out wide springs to mind. | | | |

Actually mate I didn't vote for anyone , but it would have been Adel obviously! I love flair players, my favorite all time player is stan bowles, so don't assume ! | |

No need at all to apologise. He has had two horrific seasons with injuries and was clearly rusty last week. But as someone once said ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’ and I am sure that if he gets an injury - free run he will be critical to our season. Let's see after a dozen games. A lot of us are to quick to write off and far too quick to say a player is the second coming. He had an ok game today. He scored two and did some good things. Needs to play to his strengths. Keep the ball moving , and pass and move. Stop holding on to the ball too long.
He has had a couple of terrible seasons with injuries. Let's just give him time to enjoy his football and realise he has players who can help him | | | |
