Yep next season is 100% the season to go on loan if you are a keeper with us!

For a keeper to be that confident at any stage of his career, is incredibly impressive but for a young man at the age Pierce is now, its almost unheard of. I did feel for Walsh. You could see he was a confidence keeper, but sadly mistakes seemed to weigh heavy with him. I hope he can carve out a career, but it will be tough. Such confidence that Charles has within, is not something that can be taught. You can have all the attributes, but if the nerves turn to jelly in front of 20 thousand fans, its tough. Not only is he brilliant, he lnows it too. The Northern Ireland team could benefit for many years. Will be an all time great for them, am sure. If he was English, I would place him above Pickford already. [Post edited 12 Oct 2:29]

I agree re the Pickford comparison. I watched Norn Iron and England on consecutive nights last week and Charles looked his usual assured self, quick and decisive distribution…Pickford gives me the willies the way he faffs around and I’m sure doesn't help the nerves if his defenders. I think he is becoming the weaker link of this England team. Back to your main point, to be that assured and confident at his age is quite remarkable. Long may it continue for us and him.

I would like to see Man City expelled from the Premier League and also not accepted in the Championship or even the EFL. As for signing Charles , I would like that, but it isn’t going to happen as long as QPR doubt win promotion. Let’s just be grateful that we have him on loan and hope he isn’t recalled in January ( as Wells was a few seasons ago).

| keeper on 06:37 - Oct 10 by Landshark | It's annoying, the story apparently goes that we wanted to sign him permanently but that was never going to happen once Man City came in for him. It feels like a player that they purchased as an investment rather than someone that is going to feature heavily for City in the future, that is of course unless they get relegated. |
Heard the same thing we was looking to buy him in jan on a perm deal but he did his shoulder badly and we stepped back and city stepped back in and bought him.

I’ve been seduced too. Hope Phil Parkes will have me back when it all goes pear-shaped.
| keeper on 14:55 - Oct 12 with 1049 views | WestonsuperR | Almost no chance if something happens to City and then don’t play him he will go to a Premier side, small chance if we go up I suppose. Need to get Ward improving and replicating Charles style as best we can ready for next season. | | | |
| keeper on 17:37 - Oct 12 with 942 views | Stainrod | He is just SO much better than anyone we are likely to get the danger is that this season is the high water mark for us. God knows how many goals to the good we will be thanks to him (at both ends) by the end of the season if he carries on in this form. I'm not just talking goalkeepers, any signing in any position, really hard to see one making such an impact for us as Charles is already doing, he transforms the entire way we can play. Assuming we don't have him next season, that's going to be a massive void to fill. | | | |

Hopefully QPR negotiated a no break clause in the loan agreement, so breaking the loan to loan or sell him elsewhere is not permitted, I would hope.. He certainly wont be recalled to replace Donnaruma. I think a whole season with us, will massively up his value, so I doubt personally we will lose him in January. [Post edited 12 Oct 18:23]

Yes it was an incredible save stood right behind the line on the lower loft

Agreed, I was in line and thought he got a touch. Not sure it actually deviated the ball, but did brilliantly to get there. Although my mate next to me thought he didn't, so....not 100%

We could probably settle for the outcome that he had it covered if it was any lower and therefore would have saved it. Same result either way, and excellent judgement not to have conceded a corner if he’d tipped it over :-)
