I don't know. Hull FC don't know, and Hull City Council don't seem to know either.

| Injuries on 14:13 - Oct 23 by Northernr | Thank you for doing some work to provide some hard facts on this. The bundle of weekend stats and facts for the Championship this weeks also tells me QPR have made 40 changes to their starting XI this season, more than any other club. |
40?! That's genuinely incredible after what, 11 games? That tells us something but not sure what.

I think there can be a tendency to overthink / analyse this sort of stuff. Bit rich coming from me I know. But if you look at this type of data AND the fact we've made more changes to the starting XI than anyone else in the division through 11 games AND then trust what your eyes see for the last 20 mins at West Ham AND what you saw in the third game in seven days last weekend AND what we've seen generally in the last 30 mins all season... the answer is blindingly obvious; we're nowhere near as fit nor robust as most of the teams we've played this year. Third year on the spin. [Post edited 23 Oct 15:50]

Third year on the spin. Agree. The injury situation now. Ridiculous. Fully agree. But all these stats on changes and not being fit is nonsense. With Madsen, Kamara, Lamptey, Cirkin - we were always going to manage their minutes. Especially after last season when we clearly overplayed certain players. Those 4 players are arguably all starters and either had no pre season or injury issues or both. Then Burrell and Chair, after last season, seems pretty reasonable to manage their minutes. Kemper came off because he hadn’t played since first game of the season. So it’s hardly surprising we made a lot of changes. And I for one agreed with all the managing of minutes. As it turns out, it all proved a complete waste of time. I agree the injury situation is terrible. Again. But let’s not go all overboard and start making out the squad isn’t fit or there weren’t very good reasons for squad rotation.
| Injuries on 16:06 - Oct 23 with 950 views | London_Pride | So, let’s go back to Madsen’s injury. He was on the bench against Birmingham which implies that he could have been used by JS if needed, depending on the game situation. He didn’t come on as sub and we then get told he will be out injured until the minimum of mid-November. Now, either 1) he already had the injury prior to Birmingham , in which case why was he a sub, or 2) he was left out of the team to give him a rest and ensure that he wasn’t being over-used but then suffered the injury post-Birmingham in training, in which case the training was at fault. We have seen this with a number of other players this year where they have been rested or minutes reduced and yet then still manage to pick up an injury next time out. Something is seriously wrong with the way that their fitness is being managed. | | | |
| Injuries on 16:09 - Oct 23 with 939 views | Jevlar | Apologies if a Spackman, but as well as the jury being out for a long long time now on BW, if we were ever capable of moving away from the transfer market of a talented player with a checkered injury past, then we might move the needle on the injuries front. This is based on pure anecdotal vibes rather than some of the really diligent data work that's been done in the thread. | | | |

What about last season? And the one before? You’ve only excused this one.

This is like Obikwu. He will be on the bench. Doesn’t play and then we are told he’s out injured for the next game. We might as well start the end of season review of the injuries now. Let’s hope Nourry finally comes to his senses and gives his best mate Ben Williams the elbow. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I wasn’t making excuses. I’m just talking about this season. You referred to this season. I say again, there are very good reasons for the rotation this season. I have said many times the injury situation is unacceptable but the point on lack of fitness and rotation is nonsense for this season. We’ve all watched the games, they are a fit bunch. They worked ridiculously hard off the ball vs West Ham.

They were absolutely out on their feet for the last 25 mins vs West Ham. Completely knackered. Like a team playing with a 1-0 lead in extra time at a World Cup. But it was a bloody league game. We essentially had 9 players for the last 10 mins. It was like a scene out of Platoon by the end. I'm certainly not accusing them of not working hard, they've been fantastic. I'm defending them not criticising them. Even this season - I said myself, there could be lots of reasons we're having to rotate the squad more than EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN THE DIVISION. One of them is almost certainly recruitment. I don't really care why. After three years of it... THREE YEARS... It needs to stop.

We were down to 10 men against West Ham as Lamptey did his ankle. The last 2 seasons we were unfit but I do not see that in the games this season. How are we battering Preston with 10 men in 2nd half if they’re unfit?? There are good reasons for the rotation as I explained. I still like the recruitment this summer. Anyway, we will go round in circles on this. But to be clear, I think injury situation is ridiculous, again. 3rd year in a row. But the squad is not unfit.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm not sure there's even much point in the debate. They ain't on the pitch so we'll never know if they're fit. Again, third year in a row.

It was, reportedly, done in the half time warm up last week.
| Injuries on 17:01 - Oct 23 with 633 views | francisbowles | I seem to remember, in the early season games we were saying how much fitter they were looking and keeping going at the end of games. However, that was before the fixtures started to pile up. | | | |

| Injuries on 18:01 - Oct 23 with 452 views | BklynRanger | At some point I'll have to look through the last 7 or 8 pages - a lot of nuance to the idea that we are fcuking swimming in injuries. One thing I picked up is that my extreme frustration with the lack of changes last week was not entirely justified. It turns out that yes, you really can be on our bench and not be able to move properly. What a world. | | | |

We were certainly in a better state at Portsmouth on day one this year than we were against Preston the year before, but that is an incredibly low bar. The conditioning of our team at the start of last year was a joke and it led directly to the debacles at Plymouth and Coventry.

| Injuries on 18:50 - Oct 23 with 317 views | stevec | I seem to recall 2002/03 was a pretty good season. A pre season you could describe as a specific turning point… The 2002 RAF Halton Camp: The most prominent instance of military training for an QPR side occurred ahead of the 2002/03 season. QPR’s fitness trainer at the time, Scott Rushton (a former Army man), collaborated with Flight Sergeant Geoff Hancocks to put the squad through a grueling military-style training programme at RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire. | | | |
