How many fit players do we have?

Do I need to bring my boots and deep heat on Wednesday ?

If I may refer to my other love rugby league for a moment… the best run clubs in the league are Leeds, Wigan, Hull Kr and increasingly Wakefield. Now it’s not a hard and fast rule because it’s an insanely physical sport, Wigan have had their moments and Leeds suddenly lost a load of players just as the play offs started, but over the past two or three years who have had the best record with injuries? Leeds, Wigan, Hull Kr, Wakefield.

Who are the worst run clubs in the competition? Universally seen as total shtshows… Huddersfield, Hull Fc, Castleford, Bradford. Who had the worst injury records this year and the most minutes lost to injury? Huddersfield, Hull Fc, Bradford, Castleford. In Huddersfield and Hull’s cases that has happened season after season for years.

It’s not coincidence, in my opinion.

I really don’t think we’re a badly run club or a shtshow. Really don’t think things are that bad at the moment.

So you think we are still badly run?

But how does that fit with Millwall who everybody agrees is a well run club? And they’ve had tons of injuries this season, probably more than us and also had a load last season. They’re also the land of the giants compared to us.

Injuries were no doubt terrible last season and the fault of the club’s strategy. I’m not convinced that we can judge them yet so harshly this season given the injuries have happened partly to those who didn’t have a pre season plus Burrell who was playing international football after a crazy few weeks schedule and a couple of freak injuries to Kone and Kemper.

I still don’t understand why the EFL scheduled two back to back three match weeks followed by a packed international break and then another three match week and then two weeks with no midweek games. It’s a recipe for disaster.

No, I don’t. Sorry for giving that impression. I think Hull Fc and Huddersfield Giants are badly run shtshows. I think QPR are a different organisation from three years ago and the team is unrecognisable from then to now. I’ve praised the recruitment, stephan’s management and said repeatedly I expect a play off push this year.

The point I’m making is specifically about recurrent injuries. When it’s happening to you season after season it’s not bad luck, in my opinion. One season, fine. Two seasons, maybe. Some Coventry twt goes through the back of Dembele’s knee… nothing you can do.

But three seasons of this (if that’s what’s going to transpire)? Something not right somewhere. Next area of big improvement for us, IMO.

I agree with the manager, who has said he doesn’t know what the group is capable of because they’re never together as a group, and has also said we should show ambition and demand high standards.

Agree on the schedule, it’s nuts, and it’s killing teams other than ours. I’ve regularly cited Norwich and Millwall on this and said in the fans forum wrote up that Nourry was spot on with what he said about this.

Is it something being covered by mainstream sports journalists Clive do you know? Seems a big issue when so many players are being affected and it also affects the enjoyment of the fans if the best players aren’t available.

I didn’t see Kemper struggling and JS said in his post match that it was planned, so I’d hope and expect to see him Wednesday.

My guess is same 11 starting with maybe one change at the back, resting JCS or Adamson.

Even where we’re standing in Bethnal Green or Mile End or however far back we are from the action , we could see he was holding his groin just before half .
Astonished he came out for second half .
When he came off he walked round our goal but seemed fine and I’d expect he’ll start on Wednesday. He was outstanding as well .

Surely, there is an element of JS trying to manage workload? Kemper hadn't played since first game and spent 65 minutes keeping the Championship's best player in his pocket. Would have been good to let him continue but, without Cirkin, the LB slot could be a weakness. Adamson has played there, but it's not his natural position. I think it was a reasonable call on the Boy. However Lamptey is a case of what you see is what you get? 4 years of almost continual injuries, then you're taking a risk. Friday it came back to haunt us.

I thought Smyth got clattered a few times so may have been struggling.
Kone for Kolli was probably pre-planned. Neither look fit enough for 90 minutes of 100mph Championship football.

It also appears that both lloyd and Saito picked up injuries in training.

It's not great.
