Best performance in terms of actual football played in years, possibly the last decade.

Smyth was electric. Kamara all class. Kemper absolutely immense. Edwards imperious. And obviously great to see Kone bury a few.

Huge kudos to Stephan for drilling into them that sharp passing and patterns.

This is a play off squad.

Exactly. That is the discipline we need.

Brentford and Bournemouth. Add Brighton, if you like.

Ha, fair play, I didn't think there was a negative to be found!

Managed to sneak off and watch the second half. We absolutely dominated them and it could've been 6 or 7 by my count! Going to watch the highlights in a bit and then watch the first half later in the week.

I agree that was the best I can remember. Derby were poor, Swansea were not and we limited them to shots outside the box; as there were no worldies today, we kept that clean sheet.

The thing I wonder about though is how critical that first goal always is in this league. We got it yesterday, saw a step change in Kone's and the team's confidence and never looked back. We didn't against Brum and got picked off relatively easy on the break.

One thing doing it against Derby and Swansea, but next week is a different challenge. We simply HAVE to score first against the Championship Cheats.

Can we go out yet?
Poll: Will Kone and Madsen feature this weekend?

Very enjoyable and entertaining game, you don’t get too many sides who come down here to play football and we showed, for first time in many years, if you want to play so can we.

Watched Swansea beat Norwich recently, but their defence looked vulnerable behind their full backs in a game Norwich could have won in the first half. JS clearly set us up perfectly for this game.

Much has been said about 442 yesterday but it felt to me that having three essentially central midfielders out there in Kamara, Varane and Vale was the key. We could drop into a 442 when required with Poku, who had a very good game, transitioning either 442 or 433, but the three midfielders really restricted them moving the ball into space.

At the moment the table suggests 76 points gets you eighth place which is extremely high, it may be that their are eight or nine teams this year who could equally get automatic promotion or miss out entirely on the play offs.

Agreed on nearly all points here. Best I can remember down there since Warnock years.

The measure of a coach, in any field, is how much you can improve your players/staff. Stephan has improved so many of these players. Look at Smyth. Turned him into the winger we’ve needed for years. Oh and he can do it up front too.

We talk a lot about injuries in the context of maximising the value of your assets. It doesn’t half help to have a coach like this as well.

Apart from possible the 4-0 win against Leeds I haven't seen a QPR team play that well in a very long time. Probably since Warnock.

Surely a lesser spotted “9” rating coming up in the match report. Maybe not just one either!

I couldn’t go yesterday as I had to work. But I actually feel as though I was there after reading this thread. We have a squad we can be proud of. A few colleagues at work have been praising QPR and asking what’s happened?

Long may it continue. 👍

Come on give a 10. Your reasoning for not giving 10 is flawed!

Bare bones.

I cannot remember 3 months ago let alone 10 years!!!

It was a very decent performance indeed starting with the Manage & Coaches in the way we were set up to beat Swansea.....the players then played a big part in executing the plan and playing a massive part in the win.

Different kettle of fish next Saturday and we will have to play as well as we did yesterday to get a result......but we could well get a result if we play with the confidence that we did yesterday, however it will be proper tough because of the way the Saints are performing and the quality of their players. Interesting.

I thought we were so positive, so sharp, so hard-working on and off the ball.

Every time we won the ball there was three or four of us gone in an instant. As Linford Christie used to say 'going on the b of the bang'.

We supported in numbers, ran off shoulders, composed love poems, wrote smart ditties, serenaded passing beauties and did it all again.

A joy to watch.

Hear hear. And all tied together neatly with a bow by the theme tune to Hawaii Five-0 at full time. Even the match DJ was on point.

A performance like that with so many players missing is testimony to the strength of the whole squad. Can't remember having such good players to come in! We are genuine play-off contenders!

Watching the full 90 now and that second goal is absolutely top class. Great work to create the first chance, and then the speed and energy from Adamson to win it back, the delicious ball from Poku and a delightful headed finish from Kone. That might honestly be one of the best Rangers' goals I've ever seen

There was a recent comment from Kevin Gallen that Poku is too easy to play against because you know he wants to cut inside onto his left foot - which is true to an extent. But in that kind of scenario where we're already up the field and he receives a ball back to him he's shown a few times this season that his delivery can be absolutely deadly. Not dissimilar to the assist that Lamptey got early in the season.

We won 5-0 Mate, enjoy it blimey.

Absolutely not going to have a pop at Kolli and, as you say, at 5-0 it doesn't matter much, but if he'd squared the ball it would have been a great move and I'd be first to sing his praises.

Since we're mainly talking about the manager in this thread, I actually hope he has a word with Kelli about that - it's the sort of thing Kolli can learn from and get better

Getting back to being positive, it was great movement by young Alemayehu

A 'statement game' if ever there was one.

Looking back over our pre-game predictions the most optimistic hoped for a low-scoring draw. Koné's selection especially made even that seem pie-in the-sky. But football will occasionally surprise you big-time, it's why we love it. He was truly immense, leading the line in every sense. From the lumbering, injury riddled slug of previous appearances this season, he'd metamorphised into the reincarnation of Alfredo di Stefano in his pomp. I'm still gob-smacked. What kind of magic is that?

The rest of the team were every bit as good. Looking for weaknesses seems petty and several steps beside the point. We were good. Bloody good. And if — and I know it's a big one — we can repeat that kind of showing on a regular basis we'll be a force to be reckoned with in this division.
