Canaries will be tough but if we win we're back in the top two with a couple of less demanding home fixtures to come(famous last words). A point tomorrow wouldn't be a disaster. Come on you Rs!! I'd be happy to be in the top 6 during the world cup break.

But our next three games: WBA and Huddersfield at home and Coventry away, we really want to be getting something out of, at least six points, and seven would be great. Achieving that going into the World Cup break would really put us into a good position for the run in to Christmas. I know we hate thinking of bonus games but even a point against Norwich would be a massive bonus, provided we get something in the next three.

Well in a 46 game season isn't every game as important as the next one? I mean this is the Championship so while it's disappointing to lose one game, there will be another one along in a minute to make amends! Hopefully the Birmingham defeat will have been a bit of a kick up the backside and we'll start tonight with more intensity.

My comments were more in terms of what we can expect to get out of games. Obviously all matches have the same number of points up for grabs, but there are also some matches we're more expected to win and those ones I've cited are in that category, at least the home ones. Losing those would be a legitimate disappointment. Norwich not so much, in my view.

I thought Luton was a kick up the arse? Maybe Beale needs to kick a bit harder. He has said on more than one occasion, you need to battle for every point, in every game. There’s no point turning it on in one game, then not showing up in the next. Consistency is the key, and unless we find it we will struggle to maintain our position in the top 6. Having said that, on Burnley look to be finding a level of consistency to pull away from the pack. A win against Norwich tonight would make a real statement of intent and could provide the impetus for us to really kick on. Cmon boys, let’s go for it tonight.

Agree, been too safe in the last 2 away matches and it has cost us and been bullied off the park and conceding the first goal has led to defeats. If we score first feel confident we will get a result. Basically mainly about the home form if we are to maintain a serious top 6 challenge cannot afford to lose 8 or 9 home games as we have in last few seasons.

Think its more been the impact of injuries and managing tired players that has hurt us.

Norwich are only one place and 2 points below us and generally our record there is poor. We last won in 2008, 7 games there since without a win (couple of draws at best I think). I'd take a point here and now (thought if that came about due to a 97th minute Norwich equaliser, I'd be miffed!) | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We should be 'going for it' every game, and i think, if e.g. Beale was trying to pick and choose his games for Willock at Brum, then that's the kind of mentality that contributes to what happens. However, as one or two others have commented, our lack of a midfield enforcer appears to be more of an issue than any motivational criticisms, while the likes of roberts, to se a Roy Keane word, is for me a bit of a bluffer - he's hardly a guy you'd go into the trenches with. A hard-fought point tonight would do me just fine, but I mainly hope we make a game of it.

We do have 1 game in hand though and they’ve got sheff Utd on Saturday,so it could all be different by the World Cup break. And they have Blackburn at home on November 13th. [Post edited 2 Nov 2022 22:20]

The problem for me is that Burnley are not losing. Rotherham were in control until a ridiculous challenge by their man half way in the Burnley half by the touchline resulted in a second yellow card when 2-1 up. The amount of time they have been given in the two home games has produced 4 bonus points. I bet if that was us both games would finish on 94 minutes. Burnley have a big advantage with the parachute money without the match officials assisting their cause to go straight back up.

They have to play the teams in 2nd and 3rd in their last 2 games before the break, and if they win them it will mean that we can go above both of them into 2nd place, assuming we pick up a few points against 3 teams near the bottom of the league. I’d be happy if Burnley romped away with the league as long as we finished 2nd.
