Like many, I was really looking forward to seeing Kone in his second year of Championship football. Instead he seems to have lost all confidence at the moment. Today his lay off play was terrible, he never won a ball in the air and every pass went astray. Also his body language looked awful. It was almost a relief when he went off injured. I hope that he rediscovers his mojo pretty quickly.

Look at how he was playing last season to now and it looks like we have QPR'd him. He looks unfit, uninterested and extremely slow.
Seriously though, he got flogged to death last season then picked up an injury in pre-season, he clearly isn’t fit and lacking confidence/form to go with it, but he’s shown what he can do in the past so he’ll come good again.
His career has been short and on a very steep upward curve, but this the first time things are not happening for him. It's a big test for him mentally to turn it around and I think he will. Ironically the injury may help him.

Thats where he is at. Just needs one to bounce in and his form will return. Unlucky that Chair playing behind him went off as Saito, Smyth and Poku all generally play wide so the set up was all wrong with that also.
Kone will return to form - no doubt.

I just don't believe he's as good as people make out, people had high expectations after the start of last season, he has glimpses of being a good striker, I just don't believe they happen enough.
He has 10 goals in nearly 3500 minutes.
He is slightly better than Dykes in terms of goals per minute. Michi Frey had better goals per minute. He's obviously better than Armstrong and Celar for goals per minute.
He's still quite young though, we are a better team now, I'm hopeful he will progress with a better service.

Booing/Jeering alone is mad. It’s been a few poor games. Something is clearly amiss but they don’t want to overload Burrell. Dumb and wrong to be jeering him so quickly after a very good first season in the Championship.

No. If Stephan said that he wasn’t training correctly then I’m more likely to say it. And if I hadn’t seen with my own eyes last season Kone flogging himself the way I haven’t seen from Kolli I’d be more likely to agree with you. But neither is the case.

Was a big opportunity for him today after the exact same performance for an hour at Blackburn. Probably not helped by the formation but he had Burrell up with him doing half his work last time and he was still dismal. He was, occasionally, a beast last season and now he doesn’t even seem to have basic physical strength despite being a big guy.
But, usual caveats of age, early in the season etc. Sort of player who will have one bounce in off a knee and suddenly it clicks. But for now he should be third choice at best.

Really felt for RK today he looked well off it and his confidence is shot.
Even if it’s not the case, the technical level of the game today just looked above him. I really hope that’s not true as I really like him.
Perhaps we are allowed nice things, but only in small amounts, because Burrell is looking better and better. Know he didn’t score today but to my uneducated eyes his all round game has improved.

“Got flogged to death” is a myth.
He played like 40 games. He was 22 years old not 35 years old. And I expect a 22 year old to be able to play 40 games at this level. It wasn’t like some 65-game marathon European season.
I think people assume he was “flogged to death” as his running style looks like he’s half waddling / injured. And he always looks pretty laboured, mainly because yes a heavy lad.

Yes we know what your opinions are re Rayan - Connell.
He is yesterdays man here. Kone is very much part of the squad and is a team man. Probably wrong as I said but he is not wanted. Its getting quite boring now.
I would Kolli to be competing for a place too, but he is very far down the daisy chain and he is clearly not wanted. We all know this, not much point banging on about it anymore Connell.
He had to play pretty much every minute last season because he was available when others weren’t, at times he was heavily strapped and looked in need of a rest but played on anyway because he was all we had, hence my flogged to death comment. Nothing to do with his running style.
He picked up an injury in pre-season that he appears to still be struggling with.
This is the first time he’s not been available and the first time he’s struggled for form, and how do some of the ‘supporters’ treat him?
His availability last season has been long forgotten, no credit in the bank apparently. His goals and performances last season have also been long forgotten, again no credit in the bank.
It wasn’t long ago we had Dykes & Bonne, now we have Burrell & Kone who are both far better and yet people still aren’t happy and need a boo boy. I guess some thrive off being miserable.
