Not even in the top 10 according to this

Absolutely!

Although we probably stood a better chance had the season not been postponed. We were the form team out of those from 6th to 13th.

Now everyone's form has been "re-set", so who know what might happen.

Think a minimum 4pts from first 2 games will make the Fulham game quite interesting...

Win the next two and I’ll believe.

The question was "have we got a chance?"

Of course we do. Not a huge one, but we do.

There is always a chance but if you look in detail statistically it is tiny, we would have win almost every match as there as so many teams above us that are all realistically going for one spot, 6th.

It would be very QPR to get promoted in this way following up with the points deduction fiasco and the Zamora day, we don't go up in a normal way.

That said I think a top 10 finish would be a great effort and is achievable.

A fair few of the teams above us are playing each other.

Before the suspension of the season, the next 2 games based on form at that time were very winnable, and would certainly have put us in the mix. Let's hope we can still get those 6pts...

It's deffo do'able imo.

We certainly have a chance - but I have no idea how the squad will react and perform after the long lay off - and that applies to all the teams in the Championship.

Form will be out the window. There will be a number of surprising results.

6 points off 6th place. Yes we have chance, a very slim one.

Think of it the other way round. If we were 6pts from the relegation zone with 9 games to go, we'd deffo think we were in a relegation battle!

Around this time 75 years ago, the Allies were regrouping after a minor miracle of getting stranded soldiers in France, with the Naarzees dive-bombing them from above back home. The best government estimates were, that we might rescue 45,000 men.

Facing insurmountable odds, and with only a flotilla of small boats, we got around 330,000 back safely and turned what was a defeat into a victory.

QPR by comparison, have Eze, BOS and a cast of unbridled talent a mere six points off the POs and with nine games to do it.

I’d say it’s not a question of ‘can’ we do it, but ‘will’ we be back battling on European soil the season after next?

with our goal difference it's basically 7 points, but there is, as you say, a slim chance.

Bundesliga results suggest otherwise. All very predictable.

As Warburton (and virtually everyone else in football) would say, you have to concentrate on the next game.

Home to Barnsley is vital, win that and then we give ourselves some confidence to move on. Drop points and it may become virtually impossible.

need to win those first two games to stand a chance really, I thought we had a decent chance back in March but with the break and all the changes it's unlikely now.

Also I think Warburton believes we have a chance. And if he does, then surely the players do too, which is the most important thing.

I was thinking we need to get 7 points from the first 3 games. Then see where we are.

A very small chance.

Win the first 2, which is certainly possible given the oppo (although by no means a gimme), and it becomes a more realistic chance.

We only play 3 sides above us: Fulham, Millwall and WBA. Based on the stats i’ve seen I expect Millwall to tank after the restart. The ball spends a lot more time in play in closed door games, which can’t suit their set piece game and some of the cloggers they have. In theory, it should our attack but it terrifies me with our defence.

Realistic we probably need to win 7...7 from 9 is some run! However, win your first 2 and 5 from 7 becomes a bit more realistic, especially if one takes point off one of the competition.

I haven’t actually looked but, given we’re playing so few between us and 6th, i’d guess a lot of those play off chasing teams will play each other and take points off each other.

Win our first 2 and see what table looks like. If we don’t do that, it’s all irrelevant. I can’t see us getting anything off Fulham or WBA (unless they have nowt to play for then), but 6th spot may be a low total this season so 20 further points could do it. Those late equalisers we conceded at home to Charlton and Birmingham could be ones we rue late in the season.

Our average is 1.35 PG stays the same and 62points no chance of p/o

Would need 2.0 to get 18 points (6 wins from 9) from 27 (68 points) slim chance

I can't see it myself.
