Johansen on 23:08 - Feb 18 with 3658 views | BrianMcCarthy | I knew nothing about him before he signed. I think he's gotten better with each game. Last night he was deservedly MOTM for us. I really like Carroll as well and it's easy to forget that we missed Carroll straight after his injury, so to have a player who, while different in style, is just as effective is really pleasing. Johansen does the basics really well right now, and I think his positioning in particular is just as good as Carroll's, and may prove to be even better. For now, though, I won't be getting carried away. New signings are better when we get pleasantly surprised over time.

Agree that short YouTube vid doesn't help him, but the fact is a player willing to do that sort of thing is completely what we have been missing in our side for donkeys. 🤣🤣 Leadership and Steel. Keep up the good work Stefan 👌

after having to eat humble pie over Warburton, Brian decided to dig his heels in. 'I'm keeping the trinkets' he cried belligerently

Think it's fairer to say Fulham fans adore him and weren't much pleased to let go but suggested his best days may be behind him. Some still wanted him playing a role though. Here it was a Norwegian who had seen him for the national side most recently, and fans of our feeder club West Brom didn't think much of him during his loan either. Either way, not like anyone had really written him off on here and certainly not unreasonable to say he's exceeded expectations even just on the basis of him not having played half a season beforehand.

I think the general Fulham view is that Johansen had been excellent for us in the past, but that his star was waning, and he wasn’t up to PL standard. I must admit I had assumed he was 32-33 rather than 30. Anyway, here’s what I had to say when you were linked with him: “He was excellent for us under Jokanovic - works very hard, was great at linking midfield with attack, and often popped up on the edge of the area at the exact right moment. Chipped in with quite a few goals. As per the video, he's very willing to take-out opponents on the break, and must be a pain in the ars e to play against or referee. He was very good for us, but the sh ithouse side of his game meant that I could never love him. Not good enough for the PL, but he's only 30, so I would think he could still be an influential player in the Championship.” I should have said, “the sh ithouse side of his game meant that I could never QUITE love him.” - because I very much rated him as a player, but I struggled with the more cynical side of his game (whilst also acknowledging it was something we benefited from!)

Johansen on 10:53 - Feb 19 with 2945 views | Blue_Castello | Feeling very smug, I saw an article about 4 months ago on a click bait site , saying Johansen was without a club and wanted to play football, at that time I sent a message to my brother saying he's just the sort we need to add to our inexperienced squad and that we need 3 or 4 loans to get some more experience into the team....... Just think what the current team could achieve with Manning and Samuel as wing backs, they should have stayed certainly in Mannings case but there was more to that than we will ever know.

Johansen on 11:19 - Feb 19 with 2882 views | francisbowles | It's going to be difficult to keep him. Still another year on his contract. I hope Fulham stay up not just for Konk but because they may well want him again if they are in the Champ. If he keeps playing as he is others will be interested as well and we know what happens then.

I honestly think we are better off without BOS. Blessed with raw pace and raw strength, but technically limited and a poor team player. It was hard to achieve any fluency or understanding with him in the side. Pity because for a while I thought he was going to be great.

Johansen on 12:38 - Feb 19 with 2725 views | rsonist | Feel for Carroll who may have gone from a position of importance to injuring himself out of a contract if Johansen's at all feasible and with Field and Amos next season plus Bettache to consider. The final three or four games when he returns will be interesting.

I'd be amazed if they didn't keep LTC for another year regardless. He's obviously coming cheap.
Johansen on 13:01 - Feb 19 with 2654 views | HAYESBOY | Yes, he has steel about him, but can also pick a pass. Not sure if we will sign him though as we have Amos, Carroll, Ball and possibly Field. For me Cameron will be gone at the end of the season. If we also stick with a 3-5-2 then we have 3 centre midfield places with Chair filling one of them. I would also like to see Willock in the side as well. Maybe Willock could play higher up next to Austin or a striker? Its a puzzle.

Johansen on 13:27 - Feb 19 with 2571 views | timcocking | Absolutely. Comfortable on the ball and with creativity. We've now got half a team of real quality players at this level. Shame a couple of them are on the bench still.

I would hope that Cameron is retained for another year. He has only missed 2 league and a league cup match, as well as being on the bench for one game and we lost all four of those. We need to bring a proven replacement in and so far we haven't done that with De Wijs not available and now the Masterson set back. Club captain, with bags of experience, makes errors but playing pretty well overall. Doesn't suggest he is shot at this level. Worth keeping, whilst we try and find a way to replace him.

I would suspect there is a greater chance of Johansen being here next season than Austin, but most likely neither. Better chance with Field and the Dutch lad (if he actually plays for us at all). Jury is out on Cameron for me. As a back-up CH, fair enough, but not in mid-field and his wages would have to reflect his reduced involvement.
