| Injuries 00:24 - Jan 21 with 975 views | numptydumpty | Next game, i have money on Madsen and Kolli to pick up injuries. The injury guru and his team - is this all simply extremely bad luck or is all this resting in three game weeks, loading players and protecting others so they are not reintroduced too early, actually all an elaborate way so that several staff get high wages for a load of old bluff. We always have injury crises and we have several squad members that are always permanently injured. Yes we sign some players that have injury issues as they are cheaper, but is that the whole story. I can understand the theory behind the science if its elaborated on, but we never seem to ever actually prevent injurjes it seems and if this is the result of using the science, how bad could it be if we ditch it all and just play our best team and squad every single match and see how that pans out. i think we have ten casualties currently. if we ignored the science - would it be markedly worse... hard to believe it could be. RND doesn’t play 2 games straight so he was always going to be rested. But Mbengue, Dunne, Cook, Madsen, Kone, Smyth, Dembele, Hayden, Walsh…….you would find fans who would start these players even if everyone was fit. Injuries are not an excuse for tonights performance. And we can moan about fixture congestion but we didn’t make tactical subs until 75th minute! | | | |

I wonder if he is crying out to be rested, before the dreaded injury curse strikes again? We could always rest him Saturday (for say 70 mins) and slot Ronny Edwards in their?
| Injuries on 09:33 - Jan 21 with 586 views | TheChef | Don't worry Ben Williams and the boys are all over this. It might also help if the manager looked at making subs earlier. Especially in games like last night which cried out for an injection of freshness to try and win the game. | |

| Injuries on 09:55 - Jan 21 with 559 views | DaBurgh | I've only been an avid football (QPR) follower since the 90's when my son and daughter showed an interest. So was just wondering, have substitutions normally been just for the last 15 to 20 mins? With the plethora of subs in a game now I would have thought subs at 60 to 65 mins would have a better impact, or am I talking out my Hershey highway? I think a sub at 70 to 75 mins doesn't really have much chance to make a difference, generally. | |

madson has been running on empty for weeks now , badly needs time out before he joing the impact injury list. i was amazed how much work he put in last night but the passing is starting to be less effective he just looked knakcered right now . yes hes the only cash cow we have fit right now with varanne being injured so id guess the plan is to play him as much as possible , madness with our injury record this season.

| Injuries on 10:31 - Jan 21 with 479 views | bosh67 | The problem is we don't really have another Madsen, ball playing player available. Even Chair is not a like for like player. We need to find or unearth a Barry Bannan style player. Or even steal 36 year old Bannan from the clutches of Millwall or a team north of the border, as has been rumoured. Madsen is the closest player we've had to Faurlin in a while, in that he has tried to play a quarter back style role. We don't seem to have another playmaker in the squad or an Eze/Taarabt type talent coming through. If we are going to unlock more defences, service our forwards and our wide players we need to find a playmaker from somewhere. | |

| Injuries on 10:43 - Jan 21 with 450 views | Tonto | Im.not going to defend QPR's medical team too much, but we should at least be fair. Several. Injuries have been contact Injuries not muscle i juries, which even the best medical team can do nothing about. Walsh's broken wrist, Varane catching his studs in the pitch, Esquerdinha being sat on are not the medical teams fault so should be excluded from their blame. All.the muscle Injuries, however, are and there is too long a list. | |

I said on another post that I think Edwards and Madsen would be a good partnership, whilst Cook and Dunne are doing well at the back. At the same time though, I think we would gain something with having Edwards at the back and breaking the first line of the press. Dunne tries to do it and sometimes it works but a lot of the time, he twists and turns on himself and either punts it clear or passes it back We need some of our players back. They are all pieces to the puzzle and when so many are missing or looking knackered it changes the picture. Kone doesn't look the same player at the moment. Looks heavy legged. First season in the highest league to date he has played in, probably not use to the speed and tempo. He will adjust but with the new striker, maybe give Kone a rest. Kolli or Bennie along side would work. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I've been clinging to the hope that Vale could step in and do a job if Madsen is unavailable. He doesn't really have the pace to be out on the wing but he's a clever player, I don't think we've really found his most effective role in the side yet...

With the benefit of hindsight we could have rested him last night and had him for the home game. It really would be a disaster to lose him. Thing is he does a lot of defensive work too so it’s not just giving up his passing. Although I don’t think Chair can play that role he at least provides some creativity which we sorely lack without both of them in the team. Wish we knew when he is due back. Really hard to do without so many of our more technical players at once. Hope the new striker can start soon to give Kone a rest and Ronnie can come in to just provide some flair and energy. Surprised he hasn’t had the odd ten minutes at the end of games.

Kone has been overplayed in his first season like Burrell. Needs a rest as definitely over fatigued clearly. Think it's counter productive. to keep flogging him every 90 minutes going.

Yes I agree. Would you have rested him last night? And Madsen? Again in hindsight it would’ve been better to rest them for an away game midweek and bring them back for the home match after a rest. But then JS might have seen this as an opportunity to get a win away which would’ve given us a real boost. It’s hard being a manager.
| Injuries on 13:42 - Jan 21 with 236 views | Hunterhoop | We are definitely running a risk with Madsen and Kone at the minute, imo. Madsen needs a break. Personally, I’d like to see Harvey Vale give a go in that role. He looks to be the next best passer of a ball. Would play Field alongside to be his legs. Would also like to see us give 3 central midfielders a go, so add Morgan too for running to free Vale up to create. Who covers Kone is even harder. The new lad has been a bench player at the league below. Is he ready? Kolli? Not a great hold up guy. Bennie? Nowhere near ready. Frey is obviously off. | | | |
