If we finish between 14th or higher it will be the third season in a row we've improved our standing.

Although frustrating surely this is about where we should be, if not a little bit lower? Taking in to consideration support base, ground size = revenue and the fact we have to compete against mostly teams with larger budgets we are lower- midtable at best. This isn’t lack of ambition, of course we want more, just shows we are ‘par for the course’ no better or worse than that.
It’s going to take some brilliant signings, great Manager and a bit of luck to move us into future playoff contention. |  | | |

The club has been mismanaged for decades apart from a brief oasis in the desert of failure when Amit crowbarred Tango and Dwarf out of the frontline and left the football to an expereinced and accomplished man and his team (albieit with a healthy budget).
That aside the clubs listed above have proved it can be done and by and large they continue to do it. |  |

If we do finish 16th with this squad after finishing 15th last season with the likes of Zan Celar, Harrison Ashby, the 2-24/25 version of Nicolas Madsen, Morgan Fox, Santos, Frey etc then it will be a black mark on the club CV in my opinion. | | | |

I don't think anyone is saying that we couldn't or shouldn't be aiming higher just that this probably all things considered "par" for a club like ours.
Yes most of those clubs listed are outperforming us with similar resources. Certainly Coventry too.
But Watford, Blackburn, Stoke, Sheff Utd are right there with us. Reading and Huddersfield and Reading are languishing in league 1. Sheff Wed and Leicester are about to go through that trapdoor and Cardiff and Bolton are only coming back through it now.
I'm pretty sure that when I worked out average attendance over the past 10 years we were 36th (or, 16th in the championship). If you look at avg attendance this year we're 19th in the championship with 1 team in the premiership below us and 4 teams in league 2 above us, so equivalent to 42nd overall. If you look at by far the best two proxies of our recent journey, Bristol City and PNE they are currently 1, and 2 places respectively above us in the table. We've been in the championship for about 90% of the last 25 years with 2 years in the league below and 3 years in the league above.
We're not being successful. We shouldn't be satisfied. The few chances we have had to kick on, we've squandered like idiots. We shouldn't stop striving for better or what's the point? But yeah, we're about where is expect us to be. |  | | |
