Just flown home from Menorca to Norwich, as soon as the kid behind me sat down he started kicking my seat, whilst we were still taxiing I had had enough and politely pointed it out to his mum.
This on my made him worse and by the time we were in the air I had two feet in my back being forcibly pushed, he was also shouting out and being a genuine pain, I fly a lot and know that it can be tough for kids but this is the worst I’ve ever experienced.
When we landed he took his seatbelt off and stood off hanging on to the back of my seat, had the plane stopped suddenly he would have face planted the back of my head. Parents just sat there ignoring him.
I really could have kicked off if I had been that way inclined but like a true Brit I said nothing and just tutted to myself. |  |

Pretty sad and pathetic to read his parents did not IMMEDIATLY cut his behaviour out it says a lot about their attitude and lack of basic manners.
Why should they allow their kid interfere with your enjoyment or simple comfort of flying when you paid the same or more than them .
Without question I would have called the flight attendant over to let them know and ask to be moved or simply tell the so called parents do their job control their kids ,respect others and just be nice  |  | | |

Similar thing happened to me ona flight to Poland years ago, two kids kicking my seat-back at 6.00am in the morning, then started slapping my head as hard as they could.
I turned around and asked their Mom what she was going to do.
She started screaming at me for giving out to her kids.
I told her that they were kids, but that she was an adult, which was why I was talking to her and not to them.

A few years back, same thing happened to the person next to me. When he remonstrated with the parents, they replied that they didn't want to tell their brat to stop as they 'believed in self-expression'.
The guy immediately turned around and emptied the contents of a yoghurt pot on the child's head, thus causing mayhem mid-air. When challenged, he just said he was 'expressing himself'.
To be fair, it did diffuse the situation a bit, as everyone except the parent started laughing. [Post edited 7 Jun 15:55]

Don’t get much choice when going on a package deal , booked for outside half term and there was t nearly so many kids as holiday time, just unlucky to get the one “git” sat behind me! | |

I had similar on a ferry from Le Havre to UK. Kid behind kicking and screaming because his parents wouldn't go back to the car to fetch his gaming station. Dad was very patient with him, but the kid was lucky he didn't go for a swim in the harbour. |  |

Dare say the plane was packed but irrespective, best to ask cabin crew, loud enough for the people behind to hear, have you got a seat elsewhere on the plane as the kid behind keeps kicking the seat and the parents don’t seem to be able to control him.

I was in a legroom seat, had paid extra for it as well, plane was full to capacity, it’s very convenient flying out of Norwich but they literally have one plane that does all the trips for the package deals.
KLM fly to Amsterdam daily from there , used them last year, was very pleasant.
It’s the trade off from not using Stansted or Luton which are both too small for the amount of passengers that go through them. | |

I had a similar thing on a flight over to the US a few years ago with a kid and his parents. It started with gentle kicking, then much harder kicking, like proper stamping, then screaming and throwing things around, and that went on pretty much all the way through the flight. Nearly 8 solid hours of it! About an hour from landing there was a huge argument between the parents and the cabin crew. Anyway eventually one of the stewardesses had to ask me to stop kicking the kid's chair and calm down. |  |

Maybe the holiday companies could even out the prices a little more so that families could afford to take their holidays during the schools summer holidays.There would be no reason to take children out of school during term time.
It would mean that prices would rise outside of those weeks,but who wouldn’t pay a little more knowing that there wouldn’t be any children there? |  | | |

That sounds bliss.
Last year we went to Corsica. When we landed it was the only plane there, similar scenario. On the way back, morning flight, one plane again, must have stayed overnight, straight on, passport control was like a small cafe, only time I’ve ever known an easy jet flight to go off on time.
Two airports on Corsica, this was the most southern one. Superb. | | | |
