Ok....so we lost our shape a bit when they scored (yet another worldly) but flipping heck we looked impressive and at times irresistible. Cardiff looked a decent side from the start but lacked forward line smarts.
Big shouts out to Tariq, Harvey, Burrell, Alfie, in fact all of them really. Burrell stamina is insane - he was basically doing sprints for 90 minutes. Kamara fab as well.
Decent ref too for once.
This is all rather good. Apart from that dirge masquerading as our new anthem...that needs to stop immediately.
Thought they looked great. Should have put it to bed sooner. 2 observations. Vale needs to work on his finishing. Mbengue i cant figure out. He loses his positional sense alot but at the same time he intercepts passes that his oppo has a good head start. Hes a bit marmite but i love marmite
Left work in Clacton at 2.30 to get back for this. Got stuck on a closed M25 for hours but made the kick off by 5 minutes. Played well tonight but we sat too deep for long periods. Jake going in at centre half and pushing handsome Ronny into midfield made a big difference. We played higher up the field after that and with better finishing could have won by more. Loved Kamara tonight and great to see Koki getting back to form . Jimmy my MOTM . He was immense yet again . Something building this season . Great to see.
It's the quick immediate passing that's a joy...Lampety for Jimmy's goal on Saturday and Handsome's for Burrell's goal today. Great stuff.
Yes, it was very noticeable. It led to a few bad passes, but when it worked, it was great to watch and led to some great chances. So much better than the possession between center backs we had before
A nice win against a surprisingly good Cardiff side. Both sides went for it making it an enjoyable game, with the except of the last 15 minutes when we dropped too deep.
The question that I have though is can we convert more of the chances we create? We had a total of 20 shots tonoght, 17 of which were inside the box. It worries me that we have to create that many opportunities just to score two goals. If we can increase the conversion rate to 15/20%, we'll win many more games this season.
I could have written them a better tune than that.
Just saw a post on the TikTok where two Rangers lads have written it and were nervous about it being played. I don't think it is a terrible idea, but seems so obvious the brief was to match Arsenal's North London Forever claptrap. I think it could be built upon / honed....or some such, especially as Arsenal have to contrive their gloryhunter fanbase and their song singing about an area they only visit 5 times a year....so we should be far better than that with an "anthem" about West London.

To save some of them for Saturday, especially Kamara.
In his post-match interview Stephan said the Lamptey, Kamara & Madsen changes were pre-planned and Mbengue was tired so he was subbed too. Mbengue took a knock not long before that and wasn’t moving comfortably. We have a squad that can cope with fatigue and injuries unlike last season.
Wonderful football to watch, both teams having a go, thoroughly enjoyed that.
Ronnie’s ball win and pass is off the scale, class player. We are a joy now going forward, at last a set of players comfortable playing one touch football, what a difference that makes.
Thought the defence largely played well but got away with a few things, a lot of that might have been due to Saito and Vale wide, crosses raining in with the full back a little bit on his own too much. Makes them stand off rather than try get a tackle in. Vale didn’t have his best game but even when he’s off, he does create some good moves and positions himself to get shots in.
Cardiff first team to suss that if you man to man mark Charles passes lose their effect, no matter, he did get to show that he can goalkeep as well.
Can’t get past we’ve played four teams likely to be looking behind rather than what’s ahead of them, Boro will be the first big test. What was it last year, 2 points against the top five, big game.
It’s not great. But even if it was quite good, London Calling is one of the most iconic songs ever written so why would anyone decide it needs replacing?

As for the game , I agree that the finishing was nowhere near good enough. Vale, Saito and even Burrell missed good chances to put Cardiff out of the game and spare us the last 15 minutes.
As for the 4 substitutions in one go, why? QPR were 2-0 up and fairly comfortable, if they were chasing the game fair enough, but that just disrupted the flow of the game imo. Were Lamptey, Kamara Madsen and Mbengue all in need to go off at the same stage? And I would have preferred Smyth on for Vale to utilise his pace as Cardiff pushed forward in search of a way back in.
I thought Lamptey and Kamara were both having excellent games along with Dunne, Burrell and Edwards. Also impressed with the work rate of Lloyd who never stopped running, but unfortunately he lacks the final ball or shot as well as first touch. I did enjoy his turn on the edge of the box in the first half, pity he couldn’t finish it off with a goal.
Overall , QPR will need to be better against Middlesbrough on Saturday I don’t think that is a game for 4-4-2 with 2 wingers. 4 midfielders maybe (Edwards Madsen Kamara with Chair).

Five games in 15 days, players coming back from layoffs or injuries. In his post match interview Stephen said that Lamptey, Kamara and Madsen were all pre-planned subs to manage their minutes.
