Did anyone else fork out £3 to watch? Seemed like a nice idea but oh dear oh dear. And we lost. I think. Score was wrong for much of the second half and a bit like watching last years game v Leicester much was a mystery. Should have been free.
It all comes across as totally missplaced conceitedness to me. Same as when we say Player "X" needs to be sold.
You need clubs willing to take them no?
What makes people think clubs at any half decent level are falling over themselves to take these co called prospects that a load of idiots who are clueless about football have signed? There's literally only two or three good examples in recent memory that you could cite -- Chair to Stevenage, Eze to Wycombe and (pushing it here), Lumley to Brizzle Rovers. None of those under the current incumbents of Heads of xxxx
Where else has us loaning out young players benefitted the accepting club, QPR and in turn the developing player? Examples are rare as hen's teeth and if I'm the Chairman / Owner of another club I'm not looking to extend my budget, potentially upset my squad or risk derision from my fans just to accomodate a punt QPR with their track record have taken.
Maybe I'm wrong but the current lack of our players at any sort of half decent level is either down to this and/or the absolute dearth of contacts Nourry and his team of Heads have in the game.
Surely anyone with some sort of football knowledge can see Esquidinhia would be eaten alive in League One or Two? I've described him as the worst Brazilian since Gemma Collins shaved her fanny and I stick by that. I actually feared for his wellbeing at Oxford but always did have a tiny voice in my head saying "he's putting that all on.... doesn't like to be hit hard". I'm a harsh old w@nker I know but being available for selection a week after being stretchered off in a leg brace with gas and air being given has justified that feeling to me.
I'd also add other "developing" players to that - Bennie has razzled in a blinder against a Hull side leavign space everywhere, but where would a recieving club actually look to play him? It seems the club who owns him doesn't know itself what his position is. He's been with us nearly two season's now hasn't he? The other Aussies will be exactly the same I'd say - extensive and far reaching data and profiling by the same Agent might be a clue.
Just as I finish typing the GK in Murphy springs to mind. Mmmmmm.... maybe but Barnsley weren't grumbling when he was pulled out and sent to Hillsborough.
I'm all for loaning out players to learn their trade in the mens game but the fact is they need to have something about them to enable that. Maybe Nourry will examine this when he reviews himself this summer in his own Staff Performance Assessment - he'll probably give himelf 11 out of 10 though.
For me it's a FAIL at the moment and shows no sign of improving.
It gives me great pleasure to be writing at a time of significant excitement for everyone associated with our Academy as we plan the steps towards the next stage of our strategy.
TSG Phase 2 → Category 1 Application For many seasons we have relied on training facilities that are split across multiple venues, with space and availability often restricted. Delivery of the phase 2 infrastructure developments at TSG Elite Training & Performance Centre will bring all our programmes onto the same site for the first time in our Club’s history.
Our development plans include installing a flood-lit full-size artificial pitch, constructing an indoor artificial pitch, and creating a purpose-built spectator hub, all designed to complement our integrated training centre and Desso GrassMaster pitches. Together, these facilities will position the Academy to meet the infrastructure criteria for Category 1 status, with an application due for submission this year.
To facilitate the funding of these development plans, the Club recently offered all Bondholders the option to roll over their 2021 bond investment. We are pleased that a significant number of bondholders rolled over approximately £4.2m, for which we are extremely grateful for.
Securing Category 1 status will enable our players to participate in the top tier of national competitions - such as Premier League 2, Papa John’s Trophy, and the U15 Premier League Floodlit Cup - while significantly enhancing our ability to recruit and retain elite players and staff.
These facilities will primarily be used by the Pre-Academy (U7-U8) and Schoolboys (U9-16) from the Boys' Academy, as well as our U10-U16 Girls' age groups. Having full control over these facilities i.e. not being dependent on third party owned facilities, will significantly enhance the delivery of our technical and on-pitch performance programmes across our pathways. Our players will be exposed to realistic training spaces to best prepare them for the demands of the senior game. We will be able to host training and games consistently without any unnecessary postponements, and we will maximise development time on the pitch by removing the time taken to travel to other sites.
Loan Rangers During previous updates I have spoken about the importance of our loans programme to provide our senior Academy players with vital experience to support their potential transition to our First Team. This season we have continued to take positive strides forward with the number and quality of the loans being facilitated.
Notably Emmerson Sutton has become our youngest player in over a decade to secure a loan to the EFL following his temporary move to Harrogate Town. We are delighted that he has become a regular starter and that his first goal for Harrogate Town against Cambridge United contributed to their first league victory in 21 games. Elsewhere Timmy Akindileni is gaining significant exposure at 18 years of age in the highly competitive National League with Morecambe FC. These experiences will undoubtedly support our players’ aspirations to return in contention for our First Team pre-season squad.
Thank You On behalf of everyone at the Academy, I would like to thank you again for your continued support of our Club.
We appreciate that these exciting developments wouldn’t be possible without your commitment and we remain extremely grateful.
Rangers and the hierarchy MUST be congratulated on recent innovative ways, they have been bringing in recent seasons, to save unneccessary expenses...
Seasons gone by, they used to print my mates surname as mine, and his was one letter less than mine. Quite impressively saving on usage of toner cartridge ink, although my pal wasn't exactly happy about being upgraded to my sibling. Understandable...
But now they have gone the whole nine yards. We moved season tickets this season and the buggers, not even printed out the labels entirely on the 'post it' labels they use, and reducing man hours costs, in terms of assigning an employee to transport the labels to our appropriate seats, and then stick them to the appropriate part of aforementioned seats...
Genius ways that Nourry et al are making a difference !!!!
Not wishing to stir the turds , but here goes anyway . I heard what I hope is just a rumour that our signing from Coventrys injury is just a little sinister . I've heard that he has been involved in a motoring offence possibly under the influence . Please let this be a load of bulls**t
When did "three game weeks" become a standard excuse in Championship football? For as long as I've been watching football games have been played in midweek. There are 46 league games and not 46 weekends in a season, so games need to be played midweek. If you are aspiring to be the top of your profession, you will be playing cup games and in Europe, also necessitating "three game weeks". Why is this roled out as an excuse for playing utter crap, frequently by Rangers managers over the past few seasons? Who started it, why is it accepted?!
And anyway, it's a two game week: midweek and weekend. You can't have two Saturdays in the game week!
I probably am biased here but I watch the officiating we have at Loftus Road season after season and compare it to watching other live Championship matches on the TV and feel that we do not get a fair deal in the decisions.
The assistant ref got the call on the disallowed goal correct but won't raise the flag when he sees Smyth's shirt being pulled off, over his head, five feet away.
I stand behind the goal and watch defenders (at corners) pull and push our players and yet no fouls awarded whereas the number of times Dunne, Cook, etc are penalised is disproportionate.
I have been taold (and commented before ) taht the assistants are told by the referee to only flag for offside -NOT fouls, NOT throw ins - which is why , whne the ball goes into touch next to the 'line-o' he looks anxiously at the refs arm before he raises his flag in the same direction!
I have written (not mentioniong my team) to the officiating bodies, to Sky pundits and no one seems to care about the inconsistency or that no-one can question the ref and no-one (apparently) reviews their (or their assistants') performance.
In the NFL referring teams of officials are reviewed each game and suffer consequences.
It seems we can be visited time and again by officials who make ridiculous decisions and no one can do anything about it!
A friend said to me today that I only ever post criticism after the team has performed badly.
I've thought about that and why I even bother to post at all.
I agree, I do post after poor performance but try to point out (as if to a relationship therapist) what is going wrong in my love life with QPR.
I feel that, in this love affair I have with the club, I am the one being taken for granted and as it is said that breakdowns in a relationship often stem from poor communication, I feel I have to speak out, put my feelings out there just in case my 'partner' (or any one connected therewith) can understand my despair!
So 'Darling' please please try to understand:
I don't like the fact that you consistently, week on week, season on season allow teams to overlap , cut down our left , get behind the defender, run along the goal line and cross the ball from the edge of the six yard box to score. You are doing this to me far too often! I've said I want you to stop it and you don't!
I don't appreciate you not understanding the offside rule and inability to look across the line time and again.
I am sad when you cannot be bothered to lift the ball above the head of the first defender. Please try , for me! x
I am unhappy that you cannot seem to consider my feelings at free kicks and do something special for me, rather than the same old same old crossing the ball and hoping it will please me...it doesn't!
I don't like it when you make passes to the other team. It seems that you don't care how much you do that!
I feel that you have let yourself go and you are free to run around and get paid regardless of the effect it has on me!
I love you dearly but need you to reciprocate by putting back some of the magic we once shared rathert han letting our affection being onesided!
The lad has promise and is very young, in a foreign country etc and am certainly not looking to create another Rangers scapegoat…..but…..I can’t recall us ever winning a game with him playing. That sample may well include difficult games, where we’ve rested other players, against decent teams, which may mean it’s not a fair reflection etc etc…..but is his inexperience targeted. They got a lot of joy down that wing throughout the first half and crosses come on very easily….am I misremembering the good times, and the poor lad has stepped off the pitch in a win or is his only experience of matches, being withdrawn early or is loosing.
A decent loan to league one would do him the world of good.
