I’m just watching breakfast tv and they’re reporting about Super Tuesday in the US,where 2 democrats aged 77 and 78, are competing to stand for election against a 73 year old,who will be 77 or 78 by the time he finishes a possible 2nd term. Are there any younger people involved in politics over there?Or does the wealth needed to be able to go to the very top in American politics mostly come with age?
You need to be stinkingly stinking rich to become president of the States!... Some chap blew 1/2 a billion US dollars campaigning and got nowhere! Maybe no one young(ish) is stupid enough to blow that sort of money???
On the OP, someone made a point on a podcast that the Democrats lost over 1,000 elected representatives at federal and state level under Obama between 2010-16, wiping out a generation of rising leadership talent. As a result, their choices are split between the very old (Biden, Warren, Sanders), and the very young (Buttigieg, O'Rourke, AOC, etc).
