Joey Barton Interview 14:02 - Apr 23 with 8155 viewsdaveB

Fascinating/Annoying interview with Joey Barton on his time at QPR.

I mean he still has a real lack of self awareness about his part in it all and it's still everyone elses fault but is a good listen.

Redknapp didn't come out of it well, Joey Barton praises him a lot but he basically just confirmed that he had given up.All the players apart from Joey Barton hated him and he saved him from the sack the year we went up. He slates Hughes and Warnock as expected.

yeah that was absolute cobblers about being lucky to go up, clearly never watched us that season which is understandable.

Loved how he turned up for pre season after playoffs and decided we were going down as if there was nothing he could to prevent that like say don't get sent off in a 6 pointer at Hull

I'll always think his sending off at City was contrived, I was gutted we lost even if we stayed up and City outdid Man U

has there ever been a more colossal T W A T to play for us?

slagging everyone else off for how unprofessional they are whilst simultaneously boasting about how disruptive he was around the place.

he got a £6m signing on fee when joining us then we paid him £3.5m a year for 4 years and he was celebrating our defeat to Swansea?

what a T O S S E R.

not an interview, more a deranged, self-serving monologue devoid of any self-awareness, I wish his association with this club could be struck from the record.

he's a shit Roy Keane, takes it all far too serious and believes due to that he is better than everyone else.

I had forgotten how mad that squad was after we went up, never mind all the signings like Barton, Ferdinand etc we still had Rowan Vine on the books.

We must never forget that Barton sacrificed playing Champions League football to help QPR get out of the Championship

Not sure what to make of this interview. The club sounded like an absolute mess. So glad those days are behind us.

Maybe... just maybe... if I have zero else to do I'll have a listen

However you saying that "All the players apart from Joey Barton hated him (CandleFace) and he saved him from the sack the year we went up" has REALLY sickened me and I hate the facker even more now.
I'd of sacked him on the pitch at Wembley and said so at the time (even before I'd heard the post match comment about thinking which golf clubs to visit over the summer).

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I'd be genuinely interested in hearing what he had to say, if it included a bit of humbleness, a bit of holding his hands up and fessing up that he fcked up repeatedly.

- only came here in the first place because he was in a strop with Newcastle
- played well, well below his previous standard
- disrupted (according to Warnock) the dressing room spoiling what was here the year before and (by his own admission) had a hand in a great manager getting the boot.
- all over social media hailing the new professional approach by Hughes, how much better he was than a guy who'd just won us promotion (something that seemingly escapes him now he doesn't like Hughes either)
- four red cards, all for his own stupidity, all in crucial matches, all of which we lost from good positions (Man City A, Hull A, Leicester H, Norwich H)
- All the "I'm not playing in the Championship" and acting like he was doing us a favour to get us out of the mess, followed by a year of him booting all our set pieces at the first man.

But by the sounds of it, its basically everybody's fault but his. So no thanks.

I've been Social distancing and will continue to do so, as I see it Social distancing means I have to keep away from listening to ill people and people who are full of shit.
So i'll swerve this interview thank you very much.

Joey Barton Interview on 18:47 - Apr 23 with 3929 viewsDixie_CT

Fair play to the podcast for getting Barton to speak so openly as it is a fascinating insight, albeit from a very biased lens.

Barton comes across as a person who is so at odds with himself, he ends up blaming everyone else around him when his decisions go wrong. I am sure he could attribute blame for absolutely every wrong thing HE has ever done.

Wants to play the role of authentic, socialist, funny, conscious, enlightened, and important Scouser whose view is sacrosanct but contradicts himself so much he just comes across as hypocritical with imperious opinions and demands.

Plus, he was absolute pish on the pitch. £6m signing on fee and £3.5m per year salary for Joseph Barton? £20m!!!!! Beard, Warnock, and Fernandes have a lot to answer for.

It is really hard to listen to Barton criticise QPR for being a basket case and unprofessional but sadly, it's really hard to disagree.

We offered the most money apparently and he still reckons Newcastle fans love him

Said all the promises he was made when signing didn’t come true, said the club was a shambles from the training ground to the canteen.

Warnocks staff were sycophants who would collect his daughter from university instead of taking training

He said Hughes wanted him gone as he was too powerful because TF, Beard and amit were always texting him and asking his opinion on things. He doesn’t have a good word to say about warnock, Hughes or Harry, pretty much credits Modric and bale for the spurs achievements in the CL.

Also mentions the 4 yr plan several times despite not playing in that period

Is great mates with Clint, Mackie, HH and Orr and just Zoomed with them all over some beers lol

It’s a good listen if you’re bored, mental, but worth listening too

Blokes a grade A kunt

Never forgive him or the morons who chanted “one Joey Barton” after he laid into Rodney Marsh
Can’t we just forget he played for us like we forget that 86 thing

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

i'd give it a miss if I were you, some of what he said was true but all very much without any self awareness of the problems he was causing. The Warnock bit was very frustrating. Kept referring back to the 4 year plan saying what a shambles etc and passed off the promotion under Warnock as lucky.

The bit about Redknapp was incredible though.
He said all the players and staff hated him, they had a meeting with the club saying sack him in february. Barton then got the players together and said changing manager is pointless lets just pull together (not all heroes wear capes), he went to convey that to redknapp who was sat in his office with a racing post watching the racing, said he didn't seem overly bothered by it all and just did what the players said. Everything he slated Warnock for 20 mins earlier he praised Redknapp for doing. He then claimed the credit for us going up as he helped being in Steve Black who formed a team spirit.

Nothing that we didn't already know but bizarre hearing it. He also spent 10 minutes defending redknapp saying when you come from Spurs down to QPR's level it must demotivate you so he could understand it.

Honestly mate you'll have steam coming out of your ears if you listen

Never understood why he was made captain, obviously what goes on behind the scenes is privy.

Remember Everton away on tv and him leading the team out, I was just embarrassed that this man represented us.

The Redknapp bit shows you what a con man ol' Harry really is. No one put a gun to his head and forced him to take the job, like no one put a gun to St. Joseph's head either.

Amazingly principled man is Joey. Moved to little QPR for the money but downed tools after six months max because the training wasn't good enough and the food not nice enough. All the while he took home his pay check whilst knowlingly being a nuisance to the club.

Bit sad the way he @ Amit in his twitter post. HEYYY MATE AAAA they were all knob heads but you're alright Laaaaaaaa (F it! the casual scouse xenophobia is warranted in this case!)
