I suppose if we do well out of around half of these buy low/ sell high deals then I would say it is astute business by the club. The trend appears to be 3 years with an additional option for a further year which, along with our wage ceiling, seems to be a smart move and, morbidly, the pandemic could play in our favour. Time will tell but the signs are encouraging.

I am totally torn between following Trump's sudden bleach injections and transfer to hospital, QPR's shock signings of several strikers, and the revelation that there are black Caribbean people who speak with Irish accents.
Any chance we could combine all these topics in one thread, so I don't have to keep flipping?
I heard a rumour (on Sky Sports I think), that QPR are after a 24 year old black Caribbean goalkeeper by the name of Trump, who's mother hails from Skibbereen and dyes his hair blond with bleach injections to each individual dreadlock

If somebody had told me, at the start of the year, that we'd be signing a player from Benfica, I would have been very dismissive (probably ending in off!).

Thanks, Lazyfan.
I know very little about him.
I like the fact that he's of Montserratian descent. It means there's a good chance also has West Cork blood. The tiny island was 'home' to slaves from Africa and also slaves (as well as some paid labourers) from West Cork. They intermarried freely from the very beginning. To this day, English on the Island is spoken with a distinct West Cork accent.
I almost didn't post as I didn't want to ruin the mystique, whilst I'm not the authority on Irishness (I'll concede that's you Brian), but I'm a full on plastic and I've lived in the Caribbean for twelve years. The guys from Montserrat have a local dish called Goat Water which is almost as good as mammeys stew. They celebrate the feck out of St Patrick's day, and love all things Guinness and green. But they most definitely don't speak in a Cork accent, it's a standard down island Caribbean accent. On the other hand my brother was born in Dublin and now lives in Cobh and he sounds like he's from Westbourne Grove so what do I know? I did read an excellent book on the subject of Irish indentured servitude called To Hell or Barbados by Sean O'Callaghan. Brutal ain't the word.
