| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR 21:10 - Oct 27 with 9024 views | Lblock | It’ll appall many of you oh so positive types and no doubt be deemed “disgraceful” by the football geniuses on here but…… just when do you ask questions? Six wins from TWENTY EIGHT league games maybe? In his defence this place has been stinking since Foney Tony walked through the door and he’s just the latest to oversee a total shit show, but it could’ve been different. We had the ideal man for the second time around but he who can do no wrong wanted to keep his job so King Warnock shown the door. Looking at Warbs Warby Warburton specifically I’m done with him - and I was massively in favour of him over Schteeve; unfortunately I didn’t realise what the full package was with him. I mistakenly thought he was part of the beginning of Bentford’s success story. As noted above it’s 6 from 28 and our sole win this season had more to do with woeful finishing by Lewis Grabban than anything else. The insistence of sticking with error prone Bar Bay and making him Captain I cannot fathom. The approach to BOS and Manning, two of our most threatening attacking players this season is massively questionable due to inconsistency and downright idiocy The rumoured fee for Bonne at the moment looks sackable on its own. It’s as if Charlton have covered Washington in tattoos, brylcreamed his hair and sold him back to us for £2mill The rest of the transfer dealings I’d question and after three windows THIS is Warburton’s squad. He knew Eze was off, Hugill going etc and the replacements being Carroll etc Just doesn’t cut it. Kane, Wallace, the aforementioned Bar Bay, Pugh and Liam Kelly hardly been anything like a success. We also have players like Amos and George Thomas with known and clear terrible injury records signed and drawing wages Out of us yet not going to give us anything……… millions wasted yet again. Four games without a goal is one thing but it’s the overall approach that really concerns me. The players look beat as soon as something goes against them; it’s as if they know there’s no coming back. Tonight I was shocked Chair got the hook and not Bonne. The one player we have who can hold the ball is removed and Bonne who had given the ball away every time he’d touched it stays on. There seems to be no spirit in the team bar Dom Ball (a rare success in my eyes) and Dykes battling and battering. Much been made of three clean sheets but there’s been a lot of luck involved in those. That aside I still feel Warby just cannot get the balance right or set a team up to have a disciplined defence and also have an attacking threat. His squad and tactics are totally disjointed. The future looks bleak in my opinion. I don’t see any players signed really blossoming despite others thinking we have rough diamonds to polish. I hope I’m wrong (again) and Warbs Warby Warrington comes out fighting, snapping and snarling whilst inspiring his team to do the same. For me it’s time for number 16 | |

| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR on 22:10 - Oct 27 by Hooparoo | I just watched Warbs post match interview and it’s the same old cliches. The old “we was robbed” shtick is getting boring. His team just had a flogging and he’s not even angry or apologising to all of us for a pathetic performance. |
He didn't say we was robbed at all, he said we played well first 25 minutes and were poor after that which is pretty much what happened
| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR on 22:29 - Oct 27 with 2430 views | Rangersw12 | Don't see there being any alternatives to Warburton so we might aswell stick with him Such a shame how it's all turned out as coming home from Preston I really thought we would make a push for thr play offs but then a global pandemic happens and as usual we're one of the few club's who can't deal with playing behind closed doors and we haven't been the same since! Fuming | | | |
| Agent Warburton and the rotting carcass QPR on 22:41 - Oct 27 with 2376 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Warnock up to seventh - who'd have thought it, eh? That said, I don't think it matters who's our manager while the current regime is in charge. Someone pointed out on another thread that until we're challenging at the top end of the table, we're never going to get big money regularly for players that we sell - Eze was the exception. BOS will leave for peanuts, just as Manning did, and to be fair to both of them, who would want to stay at a club with no ambition? If the aspiration each season is to finish above teams with point deductions and those who were recently in League Two, then this is the future. [Post edited 27 Oct 2020 22:44]

We keep changing the manager, and this one did a bit better last year than most of the previous ones. No it isn't good enough, but I'd prefer to give it to 20 games. If we just make lots of wholesale changes again we are just doing what we always used to.

This. It's been a poor run of form. But changing the manager is just as likely to make things worse as it is make things better. And it will likely come with a whole bunch of new signings that we can't afford. Warburtons stubbornness on some issues is infuriating and some of the performances coming out of lockdown and some of the recent games have been a disgrace, but there have at least been some green shoots against Bournemouth, and until we went down to ten today, which suggest it's not the lost cause that the last 70 minutes today suggested. He's probably running out of goodwill quickly but I'd personally still back him for now

Who had heard of Readings manager, or Watfords, even Barnsley's previous manager. But like our player recruitment we have a very small network so will not be aware of any of those potential hidden gems. We seem to have a very small pool of knowledge and so I would not sack warby as we would end up with another failed appointment. I also don't buy our squad is as weak as some make out, look around the league I certainly wouldn't be raking 6/7 squads ahead of ours, a good manager playing to our strengths and we could be challenging top 10. But it comes back to who we appoint, we would end up with a Karl Robinson type appointment which would be more of the same so whats the point. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I agree with all of that except your view of our squad. I totally appreciate a global pandemic has just a little bit of an effect (!!!) but I seem to recall the general consensus was that other clubs would be forced to get their houses in Order due to FFP and we were years ahead in that respect. COVID aside this was to be the time we got stronger in relation to others, especially whilst in possession of money that the impending sale of Eze would give us. The latest additions simply don't cut it for me bar Albert who will probably only complete a full 90 a dozen times this season. The keeper situation is a joke - Senny looks okay but bar that we're then back to unrated choices. The defence was "bolstered" by an inexperienced young lad from League One whilst the answer to losing our first choice LB was a 4 year deal for someone who has been at the club since the Boer War and made a single start. I look across our backline and see weak players apart from Ozzie Kakay (best player of season so far and thank god for him) Our midfield has lost a gorgeous player and replaced him with two injury prone crocks and a weak player who was a failure in his last stint. Geoff is running on vapours from minute 5 and Dom Ball is in and out but probably the best of the bunch for me. Out wide we'll lose BOS for a pittance and have Albert (when fit) who is fantastic and then Willock who looks every inch an academy kid caught in the headlights from the scraps I've seen so far. Up top we've lost the brawn of Hugill and the brilliance of Wells and replaced them with a game lad in Dykes who needs crosses and balls into the box and a supposed £2mill player in Bonne who looks like he couldn't trap a bag of wet cement. Dig deeper and what else have you got? No depth at centre back, untried kids for midfield and someone called Ramkilde up front (which I think is Norweign for "unicorn"). If not then that is huge pressure on the shoulders of a 17 year old from Sarfend. After three windows this is Warbs squad no matter the constraints

Aside from Watford and Bournemouth at top end and Wycombe and Rotherham at the bottom end I would say there is not a huge swing either way interms of squad quality and depth. What it does show is a good manager, who is better at getting the best out of his squad and confidence is high.

We needed to hit on one of the two strikers (Bonne and dykes). Too early to say on both of them, a couple of weeks ago Dykes was being widely lauded as a fantastic signing and Bonne is at least off the mark, but certainly neither has got the ground running like say Toney. Not bringing in a left back looked like a strange decision at the time and looks even worse now. Agreed that this is 100% his squad now, and he can't use the players we have as an excuse. I don't think he's past the point of no return, but progress needed pretty quickly.

We didn;t. Nor anything like. Nothing I've seen of Bonne makes me think he will ever be a Championship striker. I'm not sure Dykes is fit (after being flooged by Scotland). Certainly not seen any evidence that the 2 can work together. Unlike Hugill and Wells who we couldn't afford. I think the player we are already missing the most, apart from Eze, is Amos. Thomas appears to be the backup but has hardly been fit.

BOS is a massive disappointment but it shows how little we are probably spending on wages. Even his agent must understand he needs to play since he has arrived he has shown good promise but is very very unreliable to get a premiership move but if you can simply double your wages elsewhere in the championship realistically after a year or two most will move.

Reading have got three strikers that cost £15 million between them and God knows how much in wages. They've got a number ten who cost nearly seven million and then Ojaria, who was a good buy but was still £4 million and is probably on a good whack. We are not in that league. We have to buy people in cheaply and hope that some of them at least will come off. It's not looking great for us but we're not in the Reading camp. They've been spending for a few years now, while we've had to sell. Sheffield Wednesday are losing 3-0 against Rotherham and have only got one more point than us if you take off the points deduction. We're all disappointed with our start but I don't think we should throw the towel in. Look at Barnsley last season pulling it out of the bag after a terrible start. It must make a difference having to bed in all these new players when we don't have enough time to practise anything in between. Plus losing Amos was a big blow just when he was starting to play to his full potential.
